I got the recording the first time and hung up.  The second time I got a rep and I said "hello", but he didn't hear me -- he was telling his friend (probably on his cell phone) that he was on his lunch break.  When he finally realized I was on the line, I told him to finish his lunch and not call me again.  Customer Relationship Management indeed.

This was a call from CRM Magazine, a trade journal about Customer Relationship Management. They probably started calling everyday a week or so ago to update my info. They started to become a nuissance so I canceled the subscription. Often I would pick up the phone and hear nothing, today a recording started talking then a representative took over half way through the recording and told me what was going on. The usual phone sweat shop which is increasing in popularity in the U.S.

I did not answer it figuring it was a credit card company or collection department telling me that my payment was 2 days late.  Thank goodness for sites like this to help sort out what is what.  I think now that I know that it is a subscription offer, it is time to have a little fun with these deadbeats.

1-800-575-0579 and 1-800-767-8645 and 702-736-3316 call at specific times during the day on my cell and home phone.  They are automated calls so there is no human to complain to or to ask to stop the harassment.  These people obviously do not care what you want and the government's "Do Not Call" list is a joke.  I have been on that list faithfully from its inception and have maintained my presence, as requested, ever since day one.

Complaining to each other does no good so it's up to the phone and cell companies. They MUST step in and allow us to block these numbers.  To date, they have failed to do so.  I don't know if that means they are benefiting in some way from NOT stepping in, but from the two years these companies have been calling I have been unsuccessful at shutting them out.  If you have a suggestion as what can done, please post it, but for me, complaining just makes you more frustrated.

I have experienced this as well.  They call, I say hello, they hang up.  Five time this happens.  It wastes my day and makes my line busy.

The number calls my work everyday asking for about five different people in the office.  I work a switchboard in a very busy corporate office and it is very annoying to have to answer these calls in between real calls everyday.

They'll be zapped from now on. I'm amazed at the number of people/companies that ignore the do not call list. Probably because they know complaints are never followed up on.

I have gotten phone calls from this number 3-5 times a day for the last week. I figure it is important I should receive a message.

Receive many calls every day from this and similar callers.  Dead air, then eventually a recording or human comes on the line for new magazine subscription or renewal.  It doesn't seem to matter whether we accepted or declined the offer yesterday or last week; the calls just keep on coming.  This is by far the most disruptive and annoying nuisance in our office.  It would be great to be able to block these and similar callers!

These people keep calling our place of business & as soon as I say my greeting, they hang the phone up.  They do this at least 5 times a day. Its hard to run a business when these people waste our time playing games.  It takes my time away from actual customers.  They are doing it purposely & frankly its very annoying & rude. I would like it to stop. These people need to get a real job, instead of bothering working people all day long.

This appears to be some kind of mass marketer working with magazine subscriptions...they call the subscribers/potential subscribers to the magazine. If no answer or they get dead air, they move on and try again later. If you answer with any kind of sound the recorded voice tells you that they are calling on behalf of someone else and to please hold..apparently while they call the subscription department of the magazine...then the magazine subscription people come on and try to sell you or get you to subscribe to a magazine.
