The one they are calling me for is concerning Saint Josephs Hospital.  It is a pain that they cannot just call themselves, they make enough off their billing to cover a human being to make the calls themselves.  Why should I have to drop everything to call them back, what a waste of resources.  I would respond faster is people would just leave a message.

Screw you, Dave.  Can't get blood from a turnip.  These idiots are like a dog with a bone - they just won't give it up. Even after being told they have the wrong number they keep harassing folks.  Other folks just don't have the money. Case in point, my mother is in a nursing home. Her social security goes directly to them. She gets $25 a month to spend.  Period.  That doesn't go far when she has to purchase personal hygiene items or, heaven forbid, she wants a new pair of slippers or a hair cut.  Other folks are out of work or barely making ends meet. Can you live off $20 a week for groceries when that's all you can squeeze out of  your budget once you pay to keep a roof over your head and the lights on?  Get a grip and don't post such stupid a$$ comments when you don't have a clue.

I started getting these phone calls about six months ago and I ignored them, at first.  When I checked the voicemail, which was left on the fourth or fifth call, the message wasn't for me- but a person that I have never even heard of.  I have contacted the company at least three times to let them know that it was a wrong number and to ask them to remove it from the list, but the calls keep coming- up to six in a day.  I wish that somehow, they would believe me and STOP CALLING THIS NUMBER.  My number is on a do-not-call register, so I guess someone managed to just pull the numbers from the air to give them a fake contact number- that or their number has one or two digits slightly different and they are somehow convinced that they gave the correct one.  It feels like so much harassment, but because they are a bill collector- there is nothing to do to stop it until they get in contact with who they are looking for.

1-800-726-5010 Keeps calling a Vonage number I registered recently, within the last 2 months. We keep getting mail and phone calls to our cell phones and House phones (we have two home lines) from these people for a person who may have previously lived here. I assume they did due to the mail being sent in their name. We have sent letters to the return address of the mail we receive for this person stating that they do not indeed live here and have spoken with reps on the 1800 number that no person by that name lives here regarding the matter at hand. The said they would take our numbers off their calling list. I am waiting to see.

It is indeed a collections company for local hospitals in south east Georgia, the one in particular is for East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

The company in question is called; Georgia Emergency Billing Associates.

No one likes to owe bill and get calls, and most people are not deadbeats.  If hospitals did not overcharge  they might get paid better.  What makes me mad is to go the the emergency room with a real emergency and see people with sniffles and minor complaints using the emergency room as a doctor's office.  These people never pay anything, and others who have insurance and try and pay even though they are under financial stress are the ones who catch the brunt of the nasty calls and letters.  With the new fiasco of a health care plan things are going to get worse, and it scares me to think that there are people out there who don't understand that and think it will work.  Guess time will tell.  I am a working widow who has lost her house and who tries to do the right thing, and it makes me angry that there are those who won't work and grumble when the government won't give them enough.  Maybe there are not high paying jobs out there with a lot of prestiege, but there are jobs if you really want to work.

These people have called me for years. Their hours are from 9-430 M-F but call me ALL DAY AND NIGHT. Even Saturdays! I left them a message a few minutes ago letting them know if they're closed they dang well shouldn't be calling me. I've blocked their number before and they just call from "unknown".

I just figure out how to block calls from them since its not for me. I called them and left a polite message which only got me to talk to a real person once. I thought that was the end of that then a week later they started calling again with the auto message. I may try look for MR. Kyle Thomas for a short while I really want these calls to BUG him and not me.

7/2/11: At 5PM my mail came including the bill for a hospital (dated 6/30) visit 2 weeks ago This number (billing agency) called me  me at 6PM  telling me to return the call during regular business hours. Are they stalking my mail box? If they want to speak to me a real person will need to call me. Meanwhile, the bill will be paid in a timely manner (with in 30 days of billing date)

This is from a medical billing company. They automatically start calling people once thie insurance has paid a physician's office. They do not even wait for the bill to arrive in the mail. I was seen on 7/5/08. My insurance company just paid the bill on 7/20/08. I have not received a statement of benefit yet. When I called, the woman on the other end said that I had already received a bill. I explained that I did medical billing for a living and you do not start sending phone calls until at least a month after the bill has been sent.

I've been getting this call ever since I changed my cell number to a local one. Apparently the last fellow that had this number ran out on a number of bills and I get a lot of calls from collectors.
I don't know if there's any recourse to get the automated ones stopped other than trying yet another number.

It is a collection agency hired by a local hospital in S.E. Georgia to collect outstanding debts which haven't even been resolved by the insurance companies!  Insanely irritating to say the least.

We called the insurance company to ensure the bill was paid, then we called the hospital's billing department and confirmed they had received the correct amount... yet the 1-800 auto-calls telling us to call about "an urgent business matter" continue.

Guess they are hoping folks won't bother to contact their insurance companies before writing a check to cover a debt they don't actually owe.  Talk about a rip off!

OMG, it gets better.

It turns out they were calling to tell us about $1 (one dollar) unpaid on our account!  But wait, there's more!  Then they admitted they had never mailed us a bill for that amount because it was too small to bother collecting... yet they engaged their automated collection service to call us & demanded a call back.  Why?  To discuss a bill they didn't deem large enough to collect, and that we didn't know existed.

Common sense has left the building.

Someone please turn out the lights.

We received a automated call from this company at 8pm at night telling us to call back during THEIR business hours-how unprofessional.  After fuming over the call that night, I called back during business hours.  This is a medical billing company for a local hospital.  We evidently owed a bill for an emergency room visit back at Thanksgiving.  Since we've already paid the bills that we received, I questioned why they were calling.  We had an outstanding balance with the emergency room doctors (separate from the hospital billing) that was not paid within 30 days.  I explained to the lady on the other end that I don't pay bills I don't receive notices or paperwork for.  If they would like me to pay the bill, send me the paperwork.  She "graciously" agreed to "resend" the billing notice and extend my deadline 30 days so we could "clear up the matter".  We'll see if they actually send us a bill since our insurance has yet to send us any statements regarding billing by the emergency room doctor.

First off, hey Dave, STFU and stop being a do***e bag.
Some people are either waiting for insurance to pick up the tab -OR- (and i am being hypothetical here...) waiting to respond to a live person to discuss this bill they may have not even know existed)
It's called thinking before you speak Dave.
They keep calling us for bills that are pending with our insurance.
They called me at 8:00 am on a Saturday only to let me know I need to call during their business hours.

Return the call and find out just who these people are representing then call those people directly. If it is a hospital call Administration and file a complaint with the President or CEO regarding this harassment (and it is harassment). Do the same if it's a doctor's office, etc.. Inform them that you will file a complaint with the FCC and the State Attorney General if the harassment doesn't stop immediately. Then follow through with the formal complaints if the harassment continues.
