Same thing for me. The message said that it's responding to a job I'd applied for and to call him back at this number 800-729-6254.  All operators were busy and told me to hold...

I got a call with a computerized message saying they were responding to a job I'd applied for in pharmaceuticals. Told me to press 1 to be connected.  Pressed 1 and got a recording that all their operators were busy.  What is this thing??????

Yes...I also got a call from Robert 2 hours ago and it was also garbled.  What made me look up the number was the fact I received 2 calls in a row and they were exactly the same...a recording no less.  What a scam!!!!  Good job everybody!

2/17/11 received garbled message from "Robert" with same wording as above comments:  just received your resume about a pharmaceutical sales opening and want to discuss it.  Call back # was 888 394-4567 (# given loud and clear after a very hard-to-understand message).

Where can we report this?  Any ideas?  Has anyone reported this back to Monster or CareerBuilder?

Scott was the first call 800-729-5675. The message sounded too much like an automated message to think that it was real. That was on 2/11

The second call I got was from "Robert" on 2/14 at 888-394-4567. He did not give me a last name which made me suspicious right there. Just for the heck of it I called it and it had been disconnected.

Figured it was a scam......

This is a scam that people get from Monster and try to get you to pay to have your resume sent around to get a pharmaceutical sales job. Complete and utter rubbish. The same phone numbers were used on me just now and even the same name, Robert. This is the down-side of posting on Monster and CareerBuilder where any low-down scammer can get your contact info and leave basically an anonymous voice-mail.

Same issue: Garbled message, got your resume, want to discuss an opening.....What sucks is yesterday I returned a call to a legitimate company and they asked what position I was calling about, and I responded with "What company do you represent?" The answer? "I field 300 calls a day, if you don't know who you applied with, then we don't need you." I said that I get alot of calls inquiring about my resume that have no relation to my professional field. You're right, I'm sure it has to do with the job sites, but isn't limited to Monster. CareerBuilder is the same. Upgraded to see who was looking at my resume, not a legitimate "in field" inquiry among them.

Thanks for these blogging sites where I can obtain more information on several issues (the power of social media!) I am a professional unemployed, so I got anxious with any call related to job offers. The least I want now is somebody trying to take advantage of my actual position.

I got a call from the 800# @6:30AM and let it go to voicemail. I was JUST returning the call to the 800# since the 888-394-4567 is no longer in service, and was waiting for someone to pick-up a transfer that was ringing forever when I decided to look it up here. I almost busted a gut laughing before I hung up the call...

The best advice is not to respond to 800, 866,or 877 calls.

I also got a few calls for these people. One from a Robert and another from a Scott. Same stuff pharmaceutical sales. They had to get it from Monster. That's the only place where my number is posted. I might have to change that now.  I'm glad I googled the number. Now I know its a scram. Take it easy.

I think this is a scam.  Got the same messages, first press 1 if you are available to talk about pharm, sales position.  Today a voice mail from RObert at 888-394-4567 but when I called that # back I got some woman in Utah.  The caller ID# is also 800-729-6254 and said please hold for our HR department.  Not calling back again.

Just like Robert I received a call from this number in regards to a pharmaceutical sales position. The gentleman who left the message coincidentally enough was also named Robert, gave me a different number to respond back to ( 1-888-394-4567). I called the number only to be sent to a random voice mailbox unrelated to the number. I received a similar call from a 800-729-5675 in regards to the same exact opportunity. turned out to be a scam involving a "recruiting" agency who wants you to spend 29.95 in order to have your resume circulated among organizations hiring for Pharmaceutical sales. Seems these people get your information from Monster or Careerbuilder if you have a resume posted with them.
