I cancelled my subscription to AZ Republic almost a year ago.  Once in a while, I would get this phone number.  When I call back after a few minutes, I get the "after business hours" recording and no company is mentioned.  I finally decide to call back right after.  It was the AZ republic.  As soon as I heard the "AZ Republic" name from the caller, I hung up.  They have been wanting me to resubscribe since I cancelled the subscription a year ago.  I only subscribed to it thinking that it would be easier if I just subscribed a couple of days a week.  No such luck.

Don't register with the DO NOT CALL LIST--that list is given to merchants so they will know not to call--HA! who is going to turn down a viable list of phone users?? Reporting offenders does absolutely no good--another government agency that doesn't work!!

I got a call from them yesterday at 8:00pm Arizona time.  I didn't answer.  I had this same number on my caller ID when I got home from work.  So, I decided to call the number back at 8:00pm today.  I got a recording that said, "You have reached us after normal business hours.  Please call back during our normal business hours.  Thank You!"  No mention of what their normal business hours are or what "company" you've called.  If they call back again, I'm going to threaten them with a lawsuit for violating the Do Not Call Registry.  All of my numbers, including my cell #s, have been listed there for several years.  I'm tired of getting their calls at all hours of the day!  They will STOP, or else!

Just got a call from these jokers.  He said he was from my local newspaper (didn't say which one).  I told him I was on the do not call list so why was he still calling.  He said he was going to give me $300 plus my local newspaper (still didn't say which one).  I said I wasn't interested and demanded to know why he was violating the do not call list.  He hung up.

I called back and found out it's the Arizona Republic.  The last time those jerks called I told them I was on the do not call list,  I was told I had to remove my phone number myself and was quickly transferred into an endless phone tree before I could even respond.

They continually call me at my work number!!  When are they going to LEARN - I don't want them anymore!!!  AZ Republic - pick up your lost marbles and get off of my phone.

Make sure you check with your phone carrier, MOST carriers will allow you to BLOCK a certain number of phone numbers from getting through to you. I have CentruyLink land-line service, and they let me block up to 25 separate phone numbers. worth a shot, best of luck folks....

Yes it's the AZ Republic.  I had a subscription, cancelled it and now they continually call trying to 'woo' me into a renewal.  When are they going to learn to stop bothering people AND on top of it, they are calling my 'work' number after 6pm - glad I'm not there!!  What dummies!  Take no, remove my number and shut up already!

At least one call per day from this number.  Nothing but dead air and a disconnect.  Guess who's paper I won't be buying- I was never even a subscriber!

Getting 2 calls now daily from this number. Glad to see it is The Arizona Republic(?) and not some nefarious bill collector. I've told them I get the paper free at work every day.

They've tried calling me at least 5 times in the last 24 hours. I haven't answered their calls but called the number back and got a recorded message identifying them as the Arizona Republic. Since I'm registered on the Do Not Call list and told them not to call me over 30 days ago I attempted to file a complaint at www.donotcall.gov. Unfortunately, it has not been more than 18 months since I had a subscription with the company so they are allowed to continue to harass me all they want up until that time. Ridiculous.

I also cancelled my subscribtion with Az Republic, after asking them twice to stop calling me!  That must be what it is because I never get phone numbers from people I dont know!

They keep calling here. You would think they would get the hint when I answer with, "Terminal 4 Baggage, West Matrix, Supervisor .......... , How may I help you?

Repeated hang up calls from this place.  Called number back and it was the Arizona Republic Newspaper.
This has been going on for several weeks.  We answer and the caller hangs up.  Very irritating.

These people call me about 4 or five times a day...Who are they ?

It's the AZ Republic and they use a very crappy auto-dialing campign. You have to speak loudly into the phone when they call in order to get a representative on the phone(the auto dialiar system is crappy so it will detect a dead line and hang up on you).
So say Hello about 5 times, very loud, in to the phone.
Once a rep is on tell him "This is a place of business, I will lose my job. Never call this number again."
They will never call again for fear of a lawsuit with damages equaling what ever you wages might be for the next 40 years... For realsies.

This works for all collections and telemarketers. Good luck.

I got two calls from them today.  I hope it doesn't continue as the other posts indicate.  AZ Republic - huh?  Wow, maybe if I cancel at least they will have a reason to harass!

I have filed a complaint on the do not call list.  The sad thing is that I have been registered there for years.  I have told this 1-800-830-7988 number to stop call numerous times and they still keep calling.  I have not heard anything about my complaint on the do not call list either.  I am writing to the attourney general and the editor of the news paper about thisone.   See if they print an article about themselves.  Everyone should do this.  This is the arizona republic news paper that keeps calling.  It seems no matter what you do they keep calling and calling.  I have done said everything to get them to stop but they just wont.  Does anyone have any other ideas.

How did you do it, where did you file?  More info please.  I don't care about the money I just want it to stop.
