I just received a call from 800-913-6587. The message left stated they were DirecTV, but when I looked up the phone number through the Better Business Bureau, this is what came up:

Yes this is DTV...Funny how they extended my cutoff date online and called the next day...Don't worry you'll get your money!

I have gotten several calls from this number... I do not, or have ever have had DirectTV. Not sure why they are calling me several times a day. I am normally not home and no message is left.

I have auto pay set up so I never every miss a payment...ever!  This number just called me and I didn't answer.  I've had DTV for 2 months and it's been a pain in the butt every bill period because something has been wrong on both of my first 2 bills.  This is not sitting well with me at all but I'll give it the year and decide.  I've had credits and money reimbursed both billing cycles so they are at least trying to make up for the issues but yes, you do get the runaround.  

DirecTV has tons of numbers. This is one of their payment reminder numbers.

I Also have received several phone calls from this number.
I called Direct TV customer service. Lady had heavy accent. I asked her location. She said Manila, Philippines.

This is DirecTV... You are late on your bill.  It's a recording reminding you of such.  Pay your bill, you'll stop getting the call.  I received one call that left me a voicemail.  I paid my bill, no more calls.  Simple.

Actually there is no way to tell if the person you're talking to about signing up for DTV works for them or not so whatever they tell you should be honored by DTV. If the person on the phone can sign you up and get the service started/connected, then the promises they make should be honored. We fought with DTV for at least 3 months about them not giving us a AAA discount (or the upgraded receiver) - we called the correct 800 number, told the first 3 people that we got transferred to we were members of AAA and were assured that we would be given the discount. After receiving the first bill and, of course, the discount not being credited, I called them and was again assured that we'd get the discount. Second bill came and it was still not on there. I called again and was told we didn't qualify for the AAA discount and they were out of stock on the upgraded receiver (one of my friends 15 miles away had 3 of them installed the week after we signed up). I called them constantly for the next month, got into shouting matches with them (yes, they did shout back at me), they refused to let me talk to supervisors or managers. My husband finally called AAA and got them involved. They made DTV pull the recordings for each time I called, including the initial call - we got our discount, we got our receiver (one was miraculously found in the warehouse and shipped to us overnight), we got an apology. I hate and despise DTV - their customer service just sucks! If they farm out the phone jobs, then they need to honor what the customers are being told - otherwise, they don't need to be using the contractor! The sales rep essentially works for DTV, if DTV lets them promise whatever, they still created the problem. If you think otherwise, you're the pinhead!

called 5-23-12 between 10:30am and 10:55am, did not leave a message,  Direct tv or not marketing to cell phones is illegal.  There has been a rash of calls to this cell phone so ether a bold soon to be short lived crook is having  a run or it is an out of country criminal( at least the IRS might go after  them when the police fail to bring murdering drug dealers to justice...the IRS gets them behind bars and keeps them there.)  or a 3rd option the telemarketing industry has found the loop holes and the lack of real enforcement and hasd started to resume their old tricks.

Recording from Directv asking to return call. Late payment reminder.  Sent online payment 01.24.2012, still receiving calls until payment is recorded. Hang onto your online confirmations.

With this number it is really not DirecTV. I called the company and they checked everything and said that the number is not even in their with their company. They also told us that they had nothing showing up in their system of anyone contacting us. Plus we are not behind on the bill so they shouldn't be contacting us anyway.

Seem to be direcTV but to the guy that says to bad we can't block them.  You can I have a Uniden phone that with 2 pushes of a button I am not bothered and pay no fees to block the number.  Model Number BH700037316 Best thing I've ever bought blocks up to 50 numbers.  I know there are other phones that do this too.  Just look for the block button.

This is Direct TV and their no customer service department about past due billing. Even if you have previously advised what day you are paying on their site they keep calling. Now when they call I won't give them any answers and tell them to have a nice day.

To bad we can't block calls from whoever we wan.

called 802PM outobot states "call for (my name)" ,  "if that is who is answering press 1". Repeated 3 times, auto hang up. Call robot never stated who was calling.

I called DTV and verifiied that THIS NUMBER IS NOT  legitimate. If you want to test them....call them back, give no personal info...simple ask them the mailing address where you can send the payment and they'll hang up on you.  THEY ARE PHISHING TO STEAL YOUR ID AND PASSWORD AND CC/BANKING INFO IF YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO GIVE IT TO THEM. I called Direct TV on July 6, 2010 to let them know that I would be making past due pymt on July 14. Told woman to make notations on account so that no one would call again before the 14th. Got a call Sunday night. Called the morning of July 12 and spoke to another woman who verified that I had talked to someone on the 6th. Told her to make notations again and that if I got another call I would call the Better Business Bureau. Got another call at7:15 p.m. July 12 from a man and told him all that had gone on and that that I would be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. The interruption date for service is July 17 but they start calling right after the 1st of the month every day whether you have spoken to someone or not.

Thes call came into my cell phone - I don't want solisitations to my cell phone

How stupid can these people be?
First, their computer calls me THEN asks to verify our phone number.
We are NEVER late with our bill and we will also be cancelling our crappy service in about 9 months when our contract expires.
I don't know where they get their data from that Direct T.V. has the best customer service but they obviously ignore all of the negative comments that are sent in.
Not only did the person who signed us up LIE (he said that they would extend the introductory price of $44.95 for the entire contract) they would also throw in Showtime, Encore, and the like FREE for the duration of our contract. Of course when the first year was up our monthly fee DOUBLED. When we called them they said that they were aware that some telemarketers that they had hired were doing that BUT they were not liable to honor it. What a crock of S***! SHAME ON YOU DIRECT T.V.!!!

Direct TV has an F grade rating by the Better Business Bureau.Enough said.
