So, I got a call from this number. Twice. I missed it the first time, googled it after I missed it and came up with some shady info.
I put a warning in my phone and when they called again, I was prepared. It was Columbia Consumer Services. Her name was Lydia and she asked me, nicely, about my credit card debt and if I was more than $8,000 in debt. I lied and said yes just so I could get more info to put on sites like these! Then she asked if I was interested in becoming debt free and I said yes to that too. I am, in fact, completely debt free.
She transferred me, then, to a Stephen Gallagher from Columbia Law Center (which I received permission to google the name and I should "find that [they] have a BBB A-rating"). I didn't bother.
When he asked if I had all my credit card papers in front of me so I could go over with him how to become debt free, I told him, no, I was at work, which I truly was because I earn an honest living. They had my cell phone number, name and address from information they received from Experian and Equifax, which apparently sent them info for "at risk of becoming heavily in debt" people. I'm not in that category, so I really wonder how they actually got my info.
Anyway, Stephen asked what time I'd be home so we could go over my paperwork then, and I said about 6:30 that evening. He said ok and that I should expect a call around then. I never received a return phone call, thankfully. They would have probably asked for my credit card numbers. DO NOT give your credit card number if they ask for it.

Received a call at work from Columbia Consumer Services. They want to know if I have at least $8000 in credit card or medical bills. I said no - they said thank you and that was it.

I just got a phone call from Carmen Santiago (hmmmm) using 813-347-9053. Just as in the other posts, she told me about a debt reduction for my credit cards; when I asked which one, she said all of them. I asked what she wanted from me, she of course didn't answer; I said I thought this was a scam, and she asked me to call the BBB, at which point I said I wasn't interested. Is this one of those calls where they rack up a big bill using your phone number?

This place said they were a debt reduction agency and that I had been referred to them by Equifax & Transunion because I pay my credit card bills on time, but since my balances are more than $10K, I had "earned" the right to reduce my balances by 60%. Being a legal aid consumer lawyer, I asked a lot of questions to see just how bad this place was. They are telling call recipients that using their reduction service will NOT hurt their credit rating - which is total bunk. Of course it will hurt your credit rating. Perhaps most outrageous is the fact that I listened, asked a lot of questions, explained to the caller that his script contains a lot of misinformation and then firmly told the caller that I am NOT interested in this company's (unsolicited) service, they called me again the very next morning! Crazy. When I get a free minute, I am going to the Florida AG's website to see if I can shoot off a quick complaint for whatever it is worth.

Got a call from this number on Friday and today. Friday was a guy (hung up on him) today was a woman (hung up on her)---trying to get me to consilidate my credit cards. Since I really hate hanging up in people's faces, I give them the opportunity to hang up on my first. I tell them I'm not interested if they don't disconnect the call then unfortunately I do.

They called me two days in a row. They call themselves Columbia Consumer Services and they want to know if I have at least $8000 in debt. I told them no and they hung up.

Called themselves Columbia Consumer Services then rudely hung up when I asked what they wanted.
Found this on another site -- You can call and give them a taste of their own medicine. Someone in the Tampa area went to their office and they had a help wanted sign with this number 813-373-7017. I plan on using all 450 of my renaming minutes to piss them off.
The are apparently telemarketers and stupid ones at that.

I also received a call from this number - noting that due to my great credit history, they wanted to reduce my rates for all credit cards in my name. I asked for the name of the company and the caller hung up.

I received a call from 813-347-9053 at my office telephone number. The caller addressed me by name, and said that he was Josh from Columbia Services and that my credit company, Experian, had referred me to them because I was doing such a good job paying down my debt. He then started fishing about how much my total credit card debt was. When I told him I didn't have any credit card debt, he said to have a good day and hung up.

I just got a call from today at my work. The woman said she was calling about my credit card. I said "which one" ... she said your major credit card. When I asked "which one" again, she hung up on me.

I received a phone call from them this morning...my phone is in my mother-in-laws name, but the funny thing was they asked for my landlord. Told them they had the wrong number and hung up. Hopefully they wont call back again.

called my mother in law asking for my father. they are in different states, more than 3 hours apart. how they got her phone number and his mixed up does not make any sense unless somehow his name and her number were on the same credit application for someone in the family...which proves that they probably buy lists or dumpster dive for phone lists.

Called my 14 year old daughter's cell phone twice today. Funny thing is that her cell phone is under her grandmother's bill, and they asked for "Sandra" when they called, which is her grandmother's name. My daughter told them both times that they had the wrong number.

Apparently, someone is using the name Safeguard Financial when calling from this number. I can assure you that our company is not making these calls. We set up Self Directed IRA & 401(k) plans and do not make any outbound telemarketing calls.
