Called me at 8:13pm,  saying "my H&R Block card" would be locked, and I needed to press "1". I hung up. Minutes earlier I had received the same call on my landline - same recorded voice, but coming from a different number. Huh? I don't own H&R cards, and I don't do business w/them.

Got a call from this number at 12:04 a.m. Sunday night/ Monday morning with the same message. Called the number right back as was put through to an automated system with options to select for different departments within in the company. I selected Customer Service and all I got was a voicemail. I gave them a piece of my mind asking just why they were calling at that ungoddly hour and they could call me back to answer my question during regular business hours of 9-5. Never heard back and every time I try and call back now the number is just busy.

I looked up this company and it does "seem" legit. Its supposed to be a furniture Co in Noth Carolina. I have tried calling but could not get an actual person.

My husband and I both got this call starting last night just before 10PM. We both got calls this morning as well. All say this is a call from H&R Block and our prepaid Master Card is blocked. We are instructed to push a numer to unblock it. We of course hung up since we dont use H&R Block. Im just feel better that we are not the only ones to get this call. We were very concerned as to how someone would get both our phone numbers.

Got a call 5 minutes back and they said my H&R Block prepaid credit card was put on hold.  Need to press 1 to enter my information to reactivate it or 2 to leave. i pressed 2.....

828-394-5110 called my cell phone at 1:24 A.M. CST on Sat. Jan. 8th, 2011.  This incoming call reflected Canada.  I received another call at 12:12 A.M. Monday, Jan. 10th from 402-982-0899 reflecting Nebraska with the SAME automated message.  I chalked the original call as a fluke phone call. Now I know better.  The automated message said that H & R block was putting a hold on my account due to fraud?  I don't have anything to do with H & R Block.  BEWARE!!!  HANG UP!!!  REPORT!!!

Caller ID said "The Woodsmith".  Called at 6:41pm CST.  Said my H&R Block prepaid credit card was put on hold.  Need to press 1 to enter my information to reactivate it.  I don't have anything with them, so I know it's a scam.

Husband received this call on his cell #on Fri, said H & R Block card, asked for info & he hung up. I just got same call on my cell on Sunday. hung up on them. We have Sprint cells. Anyone have ideas on how they are targeting #s?

I got the same message when I picked up my cell this morning at 2:28am CST. How can they call people at that crazy hour?

There are other, similar threads on this board.  You get a call that your card has been cancelled.  To prove who you are you have to give them your name, address, card number, and social security number.  Thats all they need to steel your identity and spend your money.  

You are wise to hang up on them.

I just recieved a call from this number at 5:18pm central time with the same message as cafe... I thought i was going crazy... has anyone figured out what it is?

I received a call from 828-394-5110 saying my mastercard was locked. I didn't understand the rest of the message.

Received this call at 12:09 p.m. claiming to be Mastercard. Called it back, directs you to Woodsmith company.

Correction it was 2:08 CST.
