Oddly enough I got a call claiming I'd won "free" vacation from Norwegian Cruise Lines rather than Rachel and the card f**kers call I was expecting.  That was 2 days ago.

Oddly enough, rather than getting a call from Rachel & the card f**kers, I got the scam instead claiming I'd won a "free" trip from Norwegian cruise lines.  Weird!  I did report it to the federal trade comission as well as the FCC.

Please consider it your CIVIC DUTY to waste these basturds' time.  Keeping them on the line as long as possible runs interference for your fellow Americans and helps minimize those who get scammed. PLUS you can have FUN in the process!

Rachel of Credit Card Services (CCS) is the FTC's enemy number one: 200,000 fricken complaints each month.  Probably costs us taxpayers millions per month to process.  CCS has scammed your fellow citizens out of $30 million dollars.  UNCLE SAME WANTS YOU to help slow down these harassing crooks.

Here's a protocal to get you started.  (NOTE: four months of not ever answering calls from numbers I didn't recognize didn't stop this nuisance.  If you're getting these calls, you have been DRAFTED.)  So PLEASE DO YOUR PART:

PHASE I:

1.  Play along, acting like an interested prospect.  Give them fictitious data, including perhaps a combination of two different credit card numbers.

2.  Be patient and respectful to reel them in.  Speaking fairly slowly and clearly since these scammers will hang up on you for whatever reason (if you're chewing food, if you put them on speaker phone, if there's a slightly bad connection, etc.).

3.  Upon request, I give them my credit card company's real telephone number so that they can waste their time calling while I hold.

Once they've put you on hold, YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES:  a) Put them on hold to keep the line open and go on with your day or, what I love ... b) Wait to deploy the protocal's second phase.

Typically they come back on the line and want to review the info I've given them.

PHASE II:

4.  Sometimes I give them the same credit card info with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to call my credit card company yet a second time.  They often hang up right after calling the credit card company again.  HowEVER, if they're dumb enough to come back on the line (tee hee) ...

5.  Then I let 'em have it (and this is the FUN part).  When they say that my info didn't work, I respond, "Well maybe that's because H-O-O-O-O-N-N-N-K-K-K [from my air horn; the best $6 I ever spent] maybe you've been PRANKED!  So please (now in my Cookie Monster voice) call back tomorrow if you want more bullshot.  Eat shot and die, you predatory human garbage!"

The purpose of this abrupt Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde transition is to enrage and demoralize the enemy, and boy does it ever work.  Oh, how it pesses them off to realize you were laying in wait, setting a trap.  And NOW, hardy-har, they're the butt of your joke rather than you being the victim of their harassment.  Make it apparent that pranking them is your Number One idea of an uprorious good time, which is exactly why you're inviting them to call again (which they will regardless).  This actually DOES become fun; trust me.  In fact, I try NOT to miss their calls.  : )

Incidentally, if you get really lucky you might even persuade them to give you a REAL number at which to call them back.  Then please post it here so that the rest of us harassees can call them ad naseum.  I was able to shut down their operation for a whole afternoon by calling from both lines of two cell phones and three lines from each of two office telephone stations.  Ten calls at once, baby, for HOURS.  Then they changed that number; boo hoo.  So please try to get us a new number, SOLDIER!

Submitting the phone numbers to any registry is pointless. The numbers you see on your phone are faked or what the industry terms as spoofed. Anyone with some technical skill can find a service or device that will fake their numbers. I could be calling from Russia and it would appear as if I was calling from California. Typically they are using old discarded numbers no longer in use, there are a couple of reasons for this.

Your best bet... if you can talk to the agent and act like your interested in their product. Don't give them any personal information or give them fake information. When they have taken the bait try and get a number to call them back with the information they are seeking.

That number they  give you is gold. That number can be traced.

This place calls me incessantly. I will wait for the recorded message to end and press whatever # to get hold of a human, then I tell them I need to be removed from their list, I have also told them I am on the Do Not Call list and still they call. I finally reported them to the Do Not Call registry. It's really easy, everyone should start using it more.

I got the same call this morning and pressed #1 so I could speak with a customer service representative. As soon as the person answered the line I asked who I was speaking with and she hung up. These scams are sure getting old. in a separate incident, Fed Ex attempted to deliver a package to my house two weeks ago from Verizon. We did not accept the package because we are not Verizon customers. The package was returned to sender which was Verizon of Atlanta Georgia. A week later we received a bill for $376. 53 for phone charges that we did not request.

If I could find Ann, I would use two sticks of dynamite on her.  I'll let you guess where I'd stick them, but I'll give you a hint.  They would be close enough together that I could twist the fuses together and light them both at the same time!!

Most likely nobody sold your number because these callers do not call people, they just call sequential numbers with a robo-dialer. They do not know who they are calling or even if your number is real until you answer it. They are also not usually calling from within the U.S. but they use IP telephone spoofing to make it look like they are calling from a U.S. number. A big scam so NEVER give them any real information. Fake information is always fun to give them and waste their time so they don't get any commissions though...

Something about how they'd called before and something about debts and how I had to owe at least 2400 on my credit card to qualify.  Then the robo message said to press 1 for a customer service representative - I did this and when a man answered I asked him if he had my phone number. He said he did not and I gave it to him to tell him to put my number on the dont call list.  he hung up on me.

Something about debts and if I wanted a service rep I should press 1. I pressed 1 and then, asked the guy who finally answered whether he had my phone number.  He said he didn't have it.  I was going to tell him to put me on the don't call list.  he finally hung up on me.

If as in other comments a debt relief agency, they'd not be calling around looking for business or no putting their name on the caller ID.  This can't be legitimate.  Be aware!

Prank Call
***SCAM***
I played along to try to get info to make their calls to me STOP.  Woman claims company name is Card Management Resources located in Delaware.  They claim they got my contact info thru Equifax.  This I know isn't true because I have a protection on all my cbr's where no information is given without verification from me.  She talked in riddles about their address, direct contact number...using excuses that she was only with qualification department.  Once she gets me approved, I get given to account manager who will disclose more info.  Since this is such a great deal, their information remains "secret".  LOL!!!   Do NOT provide one bit of information to them and block their number after they contact you to avoid continued calls.  I have excellent credit, low interest rates, am not delinquent in any finances..not at all bragging here but want all to know this is a scam.
