That Sales Rep Tim Cane was the most helpful person when it came to getting everything set up and organized for my business to process credit cards. I almost made the mistake of going with my bank after I signed up, they let me cancel. He let me know ahead of time  before I went to my bank to sign up to avoid a lease  or out right buying the equipment, I was skeptical that would be the case but sure enough that is exactly what my banker tried to do. Their rates are exceptional, the machine is free, I signed back up and now that I have been processing I wanted to let the world know, this is  a good thing, especially the Sales representative, Tim cane, hes a great guy and wish i could retract my previous statement.

Received call from 858-568-7616, offering a credit card machine, retail value of $399.99, for free.  Big new promotion taking place!!!!  Needless to say, I was busy and unable to access the website during work hours.  They called 10-12 times wanting to know if I had done so, no I am still busy.  He gave me his personal cell phone number to call at home to let him know that I had filled out the app and entered in all the correct routing info.  The more I thought about it, the more curious I became.  Done my research and here I am.  Caller said his name was Tim Cane and his personal cell phone number was 760-522-1976

About a week ago I got a call from 858-568-7616, this real nice lady starts telling me she is with Techpay  and they offer merchant accounts to businesses.  She tells me that Techpay also offers free equipment and doesn't make you pay any fees to setup the account.  I was interested because I had just closed my account with the company I first got my equipment from "Total Merchant Services".  What a rip off they were, the sales rep lied to me, said no cost to get setup, no annual fees or pci compliance fee, then once faxed my application in I check my bank account and there was a 75 dollar fee debited from my checking account! I called Total Merchant Services and asked what this was, they said it was the fee for setting up a new account with them. I was furious, I told them to cancel my account and refund my money or I was calling the BBB. They closed my account, but never refunded the money.  I need a card machine now because I have a small retail store and most people use credit cards to pay me.  I didn't get this girls name before she said hang on while I get my manager to help you with the setup process.  This guy gets on the phone with me and said his name was Tim Cane and he can show me the website to go on and apply or do it for me over the phone.  I told him to just do it for me over the phone because my computer was at home.  He says sure no problem, before he starts asking me any questions he explains that after the application I'm going to get a confirmation email from Total Merchant Services!!! I freaked out and said what!!! Oh no, no no no, I was told this was Techpay, Tim says yeah it is but we resell for T.M.S! I told him no thanks I'm not interested at all, already had them and I cancelled my account.  Tim says oh sorry to hear that, then starts telling me he can call me back after work and put my application through a company called Pivotal, or North American Bancard, which ever one I prefer. He was real short with me after that, said he would call later and we could go from there, he was whispering to me though.  Is this whole company a scam? Who is Techpay? Does anyone know anything else about them? They are either a bunch of con artists or something.

Got a call this am from this number asking me if I wanted to bid a 500 sf floor install ( Im a stone/tile contractor in San Diego ,( 858 is a local prefix) for the callers boss. He wanted to know first if I could accept a credit card for the work though.I told him I wasnt set up for that , he said thanks and hung up. Aprox 1 hour later I get a call from the SAME number asking me if I wanted to set up an account to accept credit cards!!. I was distracted as I was on hold with paypal ( because of the orig call ) trying to set up a credit card account with them so they could /would send me a reader for my phone to accept cards. ( In 25 plus years maybe 5 times Ive been asked if I accept credit cards). I asked the caller to email the info. I called the number to see if the same guy who called at first answered ( didnt get a name though) so I could quiz what this ( seemingly scam) was about. He played dumb and asked for both my business numbers so he could "check " who may have called me. ( sounded like same guy by the way) , and after trying both numbers said those number weren't called by them. Obviously he was lying , so I cussed him out ( understandably  i had to vent) , told him not to call again and hung up.

Caller ID showed V731123520000042 above the phone number that called.
When I picked up the phone, I heard a strange "plink" sound and a computer that said "goodbye"
Anyone else have this happen?
