Actually, the phone numbers come from the credit bureaus and current credit applications you fill out. If they get a wrong number it is because either that person gave it out or the credit bureaus made a mistake! Its not the debt collectors fault that number is there. And wouldn't you be in a rotten mood if you had to deal with the rude people that answer. They have to be vague because of privacy laws! You want just anyone who answers to know you have debt you are hiding from? Feeling guilty? Why else be rude? JUST PAY YOUR BILLS! Besides, they treat you the way you treat them. Believe me.. I thought I could get away with it too.. you can't ...

Who's scamming when you are the one that didn't pay your debt! The only way you don't owe is if you file bankruptcy! And then you would provide the information like the judge TOLD you to!

Received a call at 6:30 PT, I said "Hello?", then a moment of silence, then someone picked up and asked "Hello?". I said "I'm waiting." The male caller asked for some female name, I've already forgotten. "You have the wrong number" I told him. I asked him where he was calling from. He said Sycamore, IL. I said "No, I mean what company." He asked me if I knew [woman's name]. I asked him for his company again. Back and forth a few times. He finally said ERSI. I told him that I don't know the woman. He said, "Then we don't have anything to talk about, do we?" then hung up. This got my goat. I called back and asked for a supervisor. The same guy came on. I asked him again how he got this number. He said he had taken my number off the list and would not call again. This conversation is over." Hang up. I called back and told the guy who answered that if his do***ebag boss calls again I will report them. Real adult, I know. But really, I just wanted to reach through the line and strangle him. I guess the coffee's for closers, not do***ebags.

John Patterson from ERSI called my private home looking for a tenant in another home I own.  He was rude and kept insisting that I give him my tenants phone number, which I did not.  I would not let me end the conversation by allowing me to inform my tenant of his call and give them his information.  He kept yammering on how urgent this call is to my tenant.  Why can't you people just leave a message and leave it at that, especially when you have not reached the party you originally called to harass?

I called them back, used the extension he suggested and spoke to the person who left the message on my phone. It was for a collection, an old one, for the person who owned my phone # prior to me. I had quite a few problem phone calls in the beginning of owning the #. He said they'd remove the # from their data base for this other person when I explained this.

I have complained several times on this number. They call all hours of the day and sometimes after 10 at nights. Something about Sears. I have filed bankrupcy and the courts discharged all debts. This is harrassment and if needed I will obtain a lawyer to help in this matter.

Called me asking for someone with the same last name.  All of my brothers and sisters as well as my parents received the same message from a Molly Baker.  Called back many times to ask how they determined to harass me and my family and only was connected to Molly Baker's voicemail.  Left messages stating that I had no idea who the person was that they were asking for and neither did my family and to NOT call me again.  This is one sleazy low life company.  It appears that they will shotgun the phone book trying to find the person and don't give a d#@n who they harass.  They need to be put out of business.

These people, mainly some guy named 'Eddie Lee' call my cell phone constantly, and I tell them repeatedly not to call me. This has been going on for two months now. All I can do is just keep blocking every number they throw at me.

Call from 866 380 4700

John Patterson, Very rude and demanding to my parents house (of which i have not lived there for 12 years)

Using this site and others i compiled a list of their so called agents and called ERSI. Asked to talk to John Patterson. Got put on hold and someone else tried to take the call. I told them i wanted to talk to Jake Miller this time but Didnt get their name. The man i talked to was very pushy acting as if i was not allowed to call them back. No idea what it is about.  Don't care.

I seem to get a call at our new phone # since we moved to our new home, and an automated message always plays with a slightly-too-friendly guy's voice, instructing me to call their # 866-380-4700 back, during business hours. There has never been any detailed info in the call, it's WAY too deliberately vague (like that annoying friend or person in your life who's given up telling you in their voicemails the purpose of their call because they KNOW deep in their heart that nobody would call them back if they actually did.)

I have become so guarded by the sheer number of pointless calls like these that I now regularly screen all 866 calls from pretty much anywhere, but I noticed this one particularly after Googling the # and realizing that they have a 2-3 week interval between calls. Always, the caller ID reads "Not Provided" though the message says "ERSI"...

Bobby Hunter a weakstick bill collector called me a few days ago...he is collecting on 15 year old debt talking about i am morally responsible to pay my debt...in the meantime this FAG sees that my credit score is over 780 why the hell would I pay a debt i made when I was a stupid college kid and didn't know any better...this can't be reported on my credit nothing...this is how the credit and collections game works...if you are a good bill collector with any talent what-so-ever you collect on newer debt say 6 mos- 1 year old if you are a weak@ss bill collector that can't collect his thoughts...or dust...then you collect 10+ year old debt...so that being said...wow 15-20 year old debt that screams professional weakstick...he then used the old what do you call someone who borrows something and doesn't return it...that is a 15-20 year old bill collector joke...the funniest thing is I own my own collection company...we actually now call Bobby all the time to talk with him for a good laugh...we put him on the speaker phone and poke him with a stick...it's great fun! If you really want to annoy a bill collector...go ahead start calling them back...believe me nothing annoys my firm more...call him talk with him...not about the bill but just about life...even better if you have a five year old kid keep calling with him or her on the phone...don't write reviews about these companies beat them at their own game...call them tell them hey listen I just did a number two and the corn i ate a week ago is in there...hahaha be creative...call bobby hunter everyday...after all they can call you everyday...and don't worry when they say they are gonna call the police like he said to me...picture this...in court to the judge...your honor this bill collector was harassing me so I called him everyday...case dismissed...the police aren't going to trap a collection line because one of their debtors wants to prank call them...call from a blocked number and call frequently!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok well I am off to go call BOBBY again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOWOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John Patterson. Something about a family member with the same name. Somehow got my address, my info, and proceeded to act like a jack@$$ to me when I was trying to say that I wasn't the person on the debt. I don't know who this was or why he insisted on being rudeness incarnate, but I'm pretty close to filing a complaint to the courts. I hope this company burns down with everyone inside.

Very funny stuff.  If you have debt collectors calling you, then you need to know what the rules are.  It's really all about knowing the law and what you can or can't do.  If you can't pay a debt, then know what you will do when debt collectors come after you.  Because they will.  But you have rights, 'The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act'.  Just remember you have power and they may call you names, but what they want is money.  If you don't have it, then stop worrying about it.  But learn what debt collectors will do to find it and what you can do to protect yourself.

Recieved vm to contact Bob Hunter at 866-380-4700 ext 112. did not call this number back.  Caller ID said this was ESRI and they don't ever stop.  Calling them is as good as banging your head on a brick wall.  They think you owe money and use scare tactics to try and make you pay something.  Lot of hot air and smoke.  Don't pay them a dime!!

When I answered the phone, received a recorded message saying this was "Mary Castor" and directing me to call back at this number.  Have spoken with another agent from this collection agency; they're trying to reach my roommate, who has a 20+ year-old unpaid account with Sears.  The other agent was verbally abusive.  They're way past the statute of limitations to get a judgment on such an old debt, so when they call you about such an old account, tell them to file a complaint if they have an action, but otherwise to NEVER phone again.

Phone rang on an extremely private number--when I answered, a recording "This is Mary Castor callng, please call us back 866-380-4700 & have the number we called you on, etc.." I called back from my "public" cell-- gentleman would not give me any information other than "ERSI" & that it was against the law for him to disclose information until I would give him my phone number. I went back and forth with him for awhile, then told him I would call them back. I tried to google it by the acronym and found no exact matches. Called back, gave my number, they still weren't giving me information...I wasn't the person they were looking for & the guy "ended our call" (hung up on me) because I was inquiring too much information from him.

I got a call at my work from a gentleman John Patterson or Peterson said he was collecting on account for Sears from 1991, after a couple of conversations I said don't call me and it's be over 16 years on this account and its not longer on my Credit Reports. He started saying he can garnish my wages etc. Just making threats I said it's way past statue of limitations and he said that doesn't matter. I just said DO NOT CALL HERE OR ANYWHERE ELSE TO CONTACT ME AND HUNG UP.
THE THING IS I HAVE NO IDEA HOW HE GOT MY WORK NUMBER.

I was contacted at work, by Candy Stevens from ERSI. She was trying to collect again, on an already (more than 20 years ago) satisfied and closed Sears account. She repeatedly refused to provide either over the phone or by mail, ANY proof that this account ever existed, let alone had a balance due. This company is clearly operating an elaborate phone scam. I've forwarded all pertinent info to both the PA and IL State Attorney General(s), the U.S. Postmaster General, the FCC, FTC and my local and State Police Phone and Internet Fraud Division(s).
