Received 10 phone calls in a row from this number.  They also called yesterday and could no tell what company I borrowed the money from or when  or how much.  I told the guy Michael Brown that he would have to send us the information in writing as required and then I would handle it.  He got very rude and hung up.

I received about 10 phone calls on my cell phone today and then received a call from this number at my work after hours in which the messages get forwarded to everyone to see. A guy named "Steve Clark" said he was with the Virginia Attorney General's office and that they were doing an investigation on my Social Security number. This is embarrising to me because anyone can see this message that was taken by an answering service at my work. I called them back and they said I owe money to US Cash Advance. I do owe money to  a CashNet USA and I am working on trying to make payments back to them. When I called this number this evening I spoke to a "Ben Johnson" and he told me US Cash Advance is suing me for $5000 and (I only owe to CashNet $500) and he said if I don't make a min. payment of $133 today he will send it on and I will be sued for the $5000 and then I will go to jail for 2 years.

Are they legite people, how can they treaten you like this?

This number just called me saying that my social security number was use,they call so they can call thepolice ,who is this?

These are not legitimate debt collectors!  If they are, they are breaking so many regulations according to the Federal Trade Commission (see Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act)--if they aren't, then this is a scam!  DO NOT give them any information or money, no matter how much information they know about you, or how much they threaten you!  In all likelihood, they will continue to harrass you, so report it immediately.  If the FTC receives a lot of reports on this, then they will do something about it.

My cousin received a call at work from a "Ray Wilson," but when I called them for her, they kept hanging up on me because I wouldn't give them a credit card number.  Both the man and the woman I talked to had thick Indian accents, and would not give any information about "the debt" owed, but told me information about my cousin, including her social security number over the phone.

I also received a call from 866-464-9547 which is a number for a lawyer firm out of Connecticut who deals with IRS debt.  The first thing I did was call my SS Office and explained the situation.  They advised me to call all 3 credit bureaus and put a fraud alert on each because they have your information.  If you wanted, you can also put a freeze on your information so no one can use your information to obtain anything.  To help relieve the stress and bs.....you can not be arrested nor charged with anything if they fail to provide you with information regarding this issue.  So they may call all they like, but can't do anything about it except to force you to go and get a prepaid Visa card to make the payment which can't be traced.  I have already contacted this law firm last night to let them know that some people with an indian accent is using their number to perpetrate a fraud and represent themselves as this firm.  The representative stated that he would get the police involved, but there is a good chance they will never be caught, although I still hope for Karma to hit them soon.  If you get another call just let it ring, have the answering machine pick it up, or blow a whistle in their ear and hang up.  I hope this helps.  :)

HELP! Received a call today, May 7, 2012 at 5:00 pm form this guy with an indian voice. Leaving threatening message that I need to have my attorney contact them. I called back and the guy was screaming on the phone. I have no idea who these people are and there needs to be a way to stop the harrassment. The same guy called from 213-283-8557. It's the same person and now they have an 866 number. They were calling from 213-283-8557 and the guy name he left was Justin Wood.

This lady keeps calling me at my job and on my cell phone. These types of phone calls have been going on since last year... When are these maniacs going to get a clue. What kind of force can be put against these people. She has a thick accent (cant understand a word she is saying except jail and charges filed). She has the nerve to say her name is Rebecca Baker... yea right! These people are crazy and must be stopped. This is harrassment!
