Got a call from 866-550-8949 they are a scam

Same as everyone else.  Keep getting calls from them and I actually went to my local credit bureau and I have NO outstanding debts from anywhere and my credit rating is excellent.  They have called me many times and 3 times they called and left messages for 3 other people.  My local agent said that he was going to email the regional supervisor so he can open an investigation and suggested that I keep the messages and get in touch with an attorney and speak with them about legal actions for possible attempted identity theft, unlawful solicitation, fdcpa violations, and illegal attempts to obtain money under a false guise.

I didnt answer but it called the house at 8:57 pm then turn around and call cell phone number.
No message left.

Do not  know  who  this  is  !  or where  they  were calling  from  ! but I  would like for all of  the Telemarketer 's to STOP  calling  my number , because  I did  not  give my number out  to them !

They called my business line, when I didn't pick up,seconds later my personal phone got called.  No messages but I saw where they had called a few days ago too.

Does anyone know who these people are??? They are calling my phone all hours of the night!

They are calling repeatedly for someone I've never heard of.  If I'm not this person, the instructions are that I'm to hang up immediately.  If I am them I'm to stay on the line.  I've stayed on the line hoping to talk to someone but it just goes dead.  I've searched online for a way to contact them to no avail.  I tried the 866 number but it has been disconnected.  The number on the caller ID is a long distance number and I'm not paying to call them and probably get nowhere with them.  Would like to know how they can be stopped.  I'm thinking I'll report it to AT & T and see if they can do anything about it.  If not, then maybe the Attorney General.

My experience goes one step further.  I not only have been getting calls from that 662 number for months, but tonight I got a Google Voice, email voicemail, and the same as a text on my cellphone.  I neither answer nor reply to these calls, and now messages.  BTW, note the spelling error in the last line.

I have also received these phone calls from FCSI. However, even if I did owe money to a collection agency, I would expect them to contact me via mail with a letter of some sort stating what the debt is in relation to. Right? These phone calls are rather annoying and I receive them almost every day at various times.

I'd love to know how to get in touch with someone that could stop the calls.

Called my old place of employment and left a message to call john carter stating it is a debt collection. Tried calling back,could not reach a live operator...

Just got a bogus call from this number. I think it is yet another sleezy telemarketer. What the hell do they think they are going to sell ? I am going to try to find these guys, and then make sure they spend an hour on the phine with me ... then ditch the morons !!

Have rec'd calls on my cell phone several times a week, various times throughout the day and night for at least 6 months, from John Carter 866-850-8949 / FCSI - Franklin Collection Serv. Inc from Mississippi. These are all recorded calls. I am not late on any payments and certainly NOT in collections so I will not call the number. I rarely use my cell phone and never give the number out so I'm at a loss as to how they got my number. I've reported them to the FCC and FTC and also have my cell phone listed on the "Do Not Call" list but continue to rec the calls.

I'd just call them back and speak to an "agent" play the voicemail they left on your machine and let them know it's a violation of the fdcpa to leave messages like that on a machine. Find out what they want without giving out too much info. Give them your phone #, the one they left the message on, and then ask what exact name they have on the account and if they have a city state and zip. Most scam companies would either just hang up or tell you some totally bogus information.

Just as everyone else I'm getting phone calls from this 1-866-550-8949 number the most recent was Sunday 5/17/09 threatning they will have no other choice but to... and it stops.  It does not give details to what company they are calling from even if you call the number back it says all of our agents are busy.  I don't know that I owe anyone to the point of they will have a crazy person calling me.  I don't owe anyone to my knowledge.

Twice now received a message asking some unintelligible name that hasn't had my phone number to contact John Carter at FCSI at 1 866 550 8949 regarding a debt collection.  Looked it up online and this company is harassing many others no matter that there is a do not call list and I am not under any debt collection.  What are the possible legal recourses we can use?

I got a call from (actual number) 6626902287 Saturday. The message left says that it was 'John Carter' from FSCI and to call back at 866 5508949. It also says it was a debt collection. (I don't owe anyone anything, but they did have a recording with my name in it). ... If you are not ***** then hang up, this message contains personal info (as if this would keep people from listening, anyway).

yeah, I'd like to know what jim jackson is up to. This is the number they want me to call. I assume they want to piss people off enough to call the number and then somehow charge them for the call and make money that way. But I will never call the number though it's extremely annoying!!!!!!!!!!

This is crazy i have seen this number so many times before 662-690-2281 on my caller id...Yet message says " this is Jim Jackson...I have made several attempts to contact you...failure to call this number 866-550-8949..Will leave me no choice..."Im gonna call this number back. I am on the do not call registry.

I just received a call like this. From John Carter of FCSI (Franklin Collection Service, Inc). I do not owe any debts, like many others who have posted on here have also stated, and I am NOT going to call the number back.

I have been searching for other complaints online, and I have found that FCSI has encountered class action lawsuits for attempting to violate The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) in years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. No doubt they'll be getting another this year.
