Got a post card from an Administrative Offices Extended Coverage Division, no company name or address saying FINAL WARRANTY NOTICE.
When I called the only thing they were concerned about was getting
payment. They wouldn't even give my prices or information on the warranty
and after I refused to give them my credit card information they told me they would call back with a follow up. I called them back and told another person about this. He did give me information after pushing him on the subject. $450 a year plus a $450 deposit. I told him that is a lot of money. He kept on pushing me to make payment now, I kept saying NO. He said well how much do you think it is worth, I said I don't know but that’s way high, this went back and fourth many times, then he said take the post card and rip it in half and throw it out, then he hung up on me!
I called the Metro Toyota dealer and they said this is not from them and they have got calls from other people about this.

This is a scam. There isn't even a company name or address but I thought
Metro Toyota sent me this to me so that is why I called.
Also they said you have ONLY one chance here to get the coverage, do you accept or decline.

They were rude, short with me, and only concerned with getting a credit number. DO NOT fall for this!

I challenge this company to provide a company name and address. Will check it and also check it against your phone number.
If you are legit company and not a scammer, you will be happy to.
Plus we can check you out with the Better Business Bureau also.

They get your info from DMV records, which are "public".  (A separate issue - contact your local representative and call them names for that one).  THEY ARE A SCAM.  DON'T DO IT.

I am not giving my real name because of this scam!
I also received a card in the mail that read “FINAL WARRRANTY NOTICE”.
The phone number was 1-866-573-7414.
I could not find ANY Company Name on the card!
When I called, the woman said quote” I can’t tell you the name of our
Company?
She confirmed that I was the person that owned the vehicle named, and
Said I am going to switch you over to a “Handler”, he will tell you all
You need to know.
A man then got online and asked me how many miles were on my vehicle,
I told him, He then asked what condition my vehicle was in, I told him excellent.
At that point, I asked him what the name of the company was? He said the name
Was “Clear”. He told me they were going to send me a quart of liquid too pour
Into my radiator. I said, how am I going to pour that into my radiator when it’s
Already full? I am not a mechanic, and said I would have too drain fluid from
From my radiator to add their fluid? He told me to get a mechanic to do it or
The warranty would not be valid.
This is where the conversation got good!
I asked this man for some info on the contract, he then switched me back to the
Woman. I asked her for a printed copy of the services offered to examine before
Giving them any money.
Her response was “I’m sorry, we don’t do that, you just need to give me your
Checking account number to receive this wonderful offer.
I told her, unless I knew whom I was doing business with, that this conversation
Was a mute issue. She agreed, we both hung up.
I am going to be very clear about one point: I bought a used car from a private party.
The only other people involved were the the “Department of Motor Vehicles” in
Texas when I registered it. I paid cash for the car and, cash for the registration.
Someone from DMV had to have given out this information to this scam to reach
My mailbox with my name, and year, make and model of my new USED vehicle.
I am going to be contacting the BBB locally with the taped conversation of what
Happened. Someone is giving out personal info from DMV, or has access to recent
Records of the sale of newly purchased Used vehicles for this to happen.
Please don’t fall for this scam! It’s probably ID Theft Operation, but won’t know
Until BBB does further investigation.
I hope my words help someone out there? I will follow up to this post when I find out
More.

Got the sames post card after purchase from private party. My first question to 'Kent' was where they got my purchase info from. He said from the dealership. Since I didn't buy from a dealership, I suspect the 'State of Texas' is selling info. I will be investigating other sources. So much for security when dealing with government agencys.
