Same thing just happened to me... actually the number came up "111111111" on my caller ID, but they left a message and left the same number, 8667979874 to return their call to . The message said I must call back immediately because they need to verify my address and my place of employment (I'm self employed, idiots), so they can summons me ( is that the right way to say it?). The man said "of course you have legal right to contact your plaintiff to resolve this matter before you are summoned, he can be reached at 8667979874." Really? I can reach the person that is suing me at that number too? Then he adds "you have a complaint against you for writing a bad check." I haven't written a check for well over 6 years. So of course I'm a little freaked out by now. Just as I am about to call back my dad calls me, saying he got a weird call from "a bunch of 1's" saying he owed money from a cash advance he never paid back 3 years ago. Pops has never done a cash advance in his life. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!

This number is one of those scams. They left a message on my phone and a family member's phone number saying they were from the process and summons division (petitioner's office) of the county that I live in. I knew it was a scam but I called the court anyways and it was confirmed that I have nothing against me, no filings no nothing. So I called the number back because I usually can google the number and hundreds of other people have already written about the number and how it is a scam. I called and told them I was returning a phone call to a Alan Marshell-guy said the name doesn't sound familiar...really?...so anyways he switches me over (fake switch) to a Jason McDowell and he goes into a long spill about how there are 3 complaints against me for bad checks...haven't written checks in years....then he said it was a pay day loan I acquired in 2009, yeah that never happened. These people are in a huge ring with other scammers, I actually fell for it a few months ago. Do not give them any information. After I started asking questions and stating I never received anything in the mail, which they claim they sent, and that I did not take out a pay day loan in 2009, he started to get very rude and nasty. I ended up handing up on the guy and of course he tried calling right back, because that is what they do. they call and harrass you...then the calls will stop because they have been caught but then they change names and numbers and start all over again. I'm just sick of it.
