Received a call at my work from a very rude woman from a (519) area code on Feb 13/14.  She asked for me by name.  Then she said she needed to verify some information.  She asked me if I was ?### from ...my former address.  I asked her who she was, as Im not just giving anyone any information.   She stated it was a yes or no question.  So I replied NO then.  She then stated that she would call back when i was ready to tell the truth and promptly hung up!  I have been waiting for her to call  back so I can tell her THE TRUTH.  Today Feb 21, 2014 - received another call from (519)963-8038 - automated machine telling me to hold for a representative.  I hung up.  I don't have any bills outstanding - and obviously nothing on my credit as I just managed to secure my first mortgage.  Certainly not prepared to take any crap from anybody - whether I owe them money or not.  There are nice ways to deal people - and this certainly isnt it.

I get calls, messages left, for someone named Marshall.  I am a retired person, of the female persuasion and can only assume they got my number from the phone book.  I usually just erase the messages they leave.  Tonight, I answered the phone.  I explained to the young man, my name begins with an S and not an M and I would appreciate it if they could take my number of their list.  We shall see.  

They been calling us non stop..for a matter over 20 years..I feel sick every time they call,,how can we get rid of them.

I think its barred after 6yrs, not 2!

I just receive the same rude phone call from active capital and my wife answered and the man was rude telling her give me the man i talked to him he was rude asking about some one name ahmed and i told him you open the white pages and any last name similar to mine and he is yelling i yell back i fight with the man in the phone his tone and accent from Africa, i threaten him by calling the police and calling my lawyer for this behavior and threatening in the phone and when he was sure that he called wrong number he hang up"

Hi all, looks like the majority of your problems can be solved by having a conversation with Aktiv, Talk about 2 minutes out of your day to explain the situation whether you're the person they are looking for or not. If it's the wrong #, tell them, if you believe the debt was paid then you just have to provide docs that showed you've already taken care of it :)

To make them stop calling speak in a low voice and soon as they say "what or pardon me?" blast the receiver with a air-horn. Your neighbors prolly won't be impressed.  War is war tho.

You can find decently priced air-horns online. Worth the price. Also comes in use with telemarketers.

Ya just add them to reject list (cell phones) u will never hear ur phone ring, it will keep on auto rejecting. also guys if that passed debt doesn't show up on ur cb anymore, it doesn't matter anyway.

It's interesting in this job market, that working for a sleazy company like this is the best the staff at Activ Capital can do. They are the losers. I enjoy messing with them when they call.

Years ago, a debt was incurred by someone else using my personal info that was illegally obtained. The debt was passed onto a collection agency, which I dealt with and settled the matter by proving I was not the person they were looking for. They stopped contacting.

Then the file was purchased by this acquisition company called Aktiv Kapital, who have been harassing me since.

Last time they called I just set my cell phone to record, answered their call on my landline and put it on speakerphone and said, "This call is being recorded.  Hello?"  Guess what? They hung up. Then I video recorded a list of all the times they have called from my callers list to provide to my lawyer. Some people might be afraid of litigation, but I have nothing to be afraid of except getting richer at their expense, so bring it on, I say!

Who are these people? Are they a legal company? Can they be charged for constant harrassing? I have no outstanding debt? My Credit Card is NOT in arrears! So I have no clue why they are calling me?

I got the same call and have been getting called by these people for months now, but I keep adding them to my rogers one blocked number list. It works, until they change the number they call from, but I keep adding the new number to the blocked number list.

And my debt is from over 10yrs ago, which I paid. So I don't get why they keep calling, but it doesn't show up on my credit report or score. Bunch of idiots, buying old paid off debts!!!

Had insurance on my credit card, permanet disabilty, insurance was a ripp off just like this comapny, when they call call them back repeat several times each time they call you, they require there phones to operate this will mess them up just like they do you. Its some thing for there harasment!

If they yell at you,call you multiple times during the day or week, it is credit harassment and you can charge the company!

My phone has not been answered for several years now and still they continue to call.  Does anyone know what to do to stop them.  I do not want to return their calls but I am very annoyed that they keep calling for years on end.  Almost every day, even week-ends and any time, sometime 7:30 a.m. and 9:40 p.m.  Is there no rest from this harrassment?

NO they can not guarntish you wage , I just talk to my sister because they just told my daughter the same thing , They first have to take you to court, and only the goverment can guarnish wages. PLEASE don't give them any imformation about you , if the ask tell them they should have it infront of them.

I have read everyone complaint, This company start contacting me 4 months ago saying that I owed them 1632.13 for a TD Visa. I left it on my table and didnt think anything of it until my husband said I should look into this, we had already paid it of through TD bank.
So I went to the bank and the bank manager investigated it for me and low and behold it was payed. I phone the Active Capital and let them know that is was payed and they need to take this up with TD visa.
The guy was so rude, he insisted that I owed this, I told him to stop call , well that did work they now call 4 times a day.I do have a Lawyer looking in to this, because the worse part of this is my daughter did get caught and she has paid them 7000. already. They are scaring her with guarnishing her wages and we all no that they cant do that only the gouverment can guarnish wages.
