Bud Hibbs (budhibbs.com) has these clowns on his list of bad actors in the collection business.  Check out his web site, and under no circumstances give these bottom feeders a credit card, check, or the corresponding account numbers unless you are willing to risk being cleaned out.  If you want to fool with them, get it all in writing up front, and use a bank check, or a U.S. Postal Service money order.  Use Certified, Return Receipt for all correspondence and payments.  Do not let them bully, intimidate, or push your buttons emotionally.  They cannot put you in jail.  If they threaten you they are breaking the law, and you can take action.  Become familiar with the debt collection laws.  You can send these guys a "drop dead" letter (see www.budhibbs.com/cease_comm.htm) which will make them go away, although if this is a legitimate debt, it may then get handed over to an attorney.  That may actually be good news, however, because they usually have good sense and can be worked with to solve the problem.  Pay your bills if you owe them, but don't let anyone abuse you.  Listen to Dave Ramsey on the radio, read his books, and get the low lifes out of your life.

Gang, do this.  Add the number to your contact list (if it is a cell phone of course) put in their name w/ a Z in front of it so it is at the back of your contacts and you do not have to scroll through it to find other numbers.  Set the ringtone to "no ring" it is the next one above "default" on most phones, so scroll backward.
