This is a scam number! They called and said they were with Citizens Bank. They asked me what number they called so they could look up account. Then they said they couldn't find it. Then I suggested they look via my checking account number. She asked for my social security number instead. I refused, something didn't feel right. So I called the regular Citizen Bank customer service line. This number is not associated with them in anyway. BE VERY CAREFUL!!

relentless consumer counseling from charter 1 bank. calls up to 8 times a day weekdays and weekends and they want to you to make payment with a credit card. Callers do not reckonize a grace period and they still keep calling even if payment is still in grace period and its not late.or if payment has been made at a bank branch, they still will keep calling till the next business day-

I got calls from this 866 number, and I have nothing to do with Citizen's Bank or Charter One
Collection or any other similar sounding organizations. I called the number back after seeing
it on my caller ID and a woman answered. I asked who it was, she said "IB Bank.". The woman asked me what my name was and if I knew Amy Graff. Well, I be consumer: I didn't know Amy Graff and told her that I didn't want anymore calls from this number. The next day, the number appeared again on my caller ID.

I keep getting a call from 866-941-8949.  The message is left as this is Dennis from the bank please call.  When I call the first thing they ask me is if they could have the last 4 numbers of my s.s. # for security purposes.  When I say no I won't give that to you, I don't have an account with Charter Bank they just hang up.  

Who is this and can this be stopped.  I'm afraid unsuspecting seniors may just give them the info they are looking for.

These Idiots call relentlessly, I was ONE DAY LATE on a payment and they called me 5 times. It is Charter ONE, I told them about it, they were very noncomittal. They call at all hours of the day and night even if you are within your Grace Period. Should be Reported They are absolutely horrible.

866-941-8949 belongs to a collection agency used by Citizens Bank.

This number keeps calling our house relentlessly from early morning to late night.  They keep identifying themselves as Charter One Bank but the caller ID just says "800 service".  When you call back the number it sounds like it is somebody's house in the background.  I have inquired at Charter One and they know nothing about this supposed company.  To test my theory, we have changed our contact information with the bank and this number still keeps calling the original number.  That alone tells me that this is a scam!!!  

It's awful weird that there was just a news report about a similiar thing involving text messaging and emails trying to phish for more information to steal your identity. BEWARE!!!!

Charter One loan officer gave me a 800 number and it was the same people at the 866 number.  They told me they are not a collection agency.  They answer "Consumer Counseling", sounds like a collection agency. Anyways Charter One called in my Home Equity Loan, can't get blood out of a turnip my mom always said.

When I called back, they answered Charter One Consumer Counseling.  As far as I can determine, some listed my number of over 5 years as their work number.  Obviously a wrong number, so they said they would remove it.
