Person claims I won a prize from Publisher Clearing House; gave me a number to call.
I call this number and this person asks a lot of personal questions.
I call Publishers Clearing House and they no nothing the phone number and name of this
person don't exist in there corp.  I believe people who are out to cheat, steal, or scam
the American Public should have their arms cut off. I don't know who would feed them, or
wipe their a** but I don't really care. An example should be made.  Thank You
Try calling this number, Im sure through ATT or Verizon we should know who it is.

Today (Feb 03, 2014) my voice-mail box was called by "Tom Parker" from "the Publisher's Clearing House" to deliver to me a "certified cashier's check written from the Bank of America for 950,000 U. S. Dollars".  The call raises numerous red flags.  (i) I never enter PCH Sweepstakes.  (ii) The check has to be delivered "today".  (iii and iv) The caller will deduct the tax; translation: to receive my $ 950,000, I must send a check to the caller for some innumerable thousands of "U. S. Dollars" (a term for dollar used outside, not inside, the U. S.).  (v) The caller's "toll-free number", viz, 876-593-4162, is not from a toll-free area code, but from a Jamaican area code.

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.
http://www.att.net/smartcontrols-809AreaCode

Scammers use these numbers to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

Do report the calls, Jamaican and US officials are still actively tracking down and arresting the offenders:

Also:
It is a scam:
http://info.pch.com/consumer-information/fraud-protection

They never require any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize ? DON?T!  It?s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it?s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON?T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Publishers Clearing House does not operate this way and would NEVER ask for money to claim a prize award.  PCH employees would never contact you personally or in advance to notify you of a prize award.  Our prize awards are presented just the way you see in our popular TV commercials, ?live and in person? by our Prize Patrol, with balloons, champagne and check in hand - - and with no advance notification!"

SCAM ALERT!!! SCAM ALERT!! THIS CALL JUST CAME IN -- DO NOT CALL them back!! I was told that they were Publishers Clearing House and I have one $960,000 and a brand new Chevrolet Malibu. They wanted me to call them back at this number (876) 593-4162 and speak to the manager named Morgan. Tom Parker from 'Publishers Clearing House' left a message stating I had won $960,000 and the Cashiers Check from Bank of America needed to be delivered today. He did not address my name, just that I needed to call back for more details. PLEASE FORWARD TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS... THIS IS A REAL SCAM!!!
