This same company has been calling me for at least a year or so. Many different "877" #'s &
different names to ask for. Some sound like the same guy using a different name.

I *never* call the # back.  If they know so much about me they need to
put it in writing & send it in the mail.  They never say who they are let alone what they are calling
about.

Today's message was obviously prerecorded & was chopped off. Just part of the phone# &
'it was imperative to return his call'.   Ok I'll getg right on it.   Geesh...

... what a pack of jerks - if they think I'd give any information over the phone they're crazy.

same as ever one else...but they are calling parents and brother's home every day! Family is so sick of it!

How can it be a scam, if I really do have outstanding debts out there?

I also got a call from this number. The person's name was John Nelson and in regards to a file he had but couldn't leave the information on the voice. Tried calling back but I never got to talk to anyone. My advisor said to find out what they want but not to give them anything. I just wish they would stop calling

Got 3 calls from these guys today.  It's an attorney trying to find my son.  I had my son call and they told him he's going to be sued.  Had to do with a car accident he caused last month.

Got a call from this number at 12:06PM today. It was a recording and I couldn't understand the 1st part. A;; I heard was "...have some discrepancies in your assets. Can't leave a message on a machine."

My machine wasn't on. I went to the federal donot call list and reported the number as I had gotten the same message several weeks ago.

Then at 2:08 pm I received a call from someone named George asking for my daughter-in-law. I asked who he was and why he was calling my number. He said his company is "Asset Management Solutions"

I told him do NOT call this number again, as I am not a message center and Eileen does NOT live here." (which is true).

Then he said, "Well, you are asking me a lot of questions and I don't think you are being truthful!"

I was shocked and I asked "Are YOU calling ME a LIAR?" YOU S*****B***H! and I slammed the phone down.

I have no clue who these people are or even if they are legitimate, but I do NOT give out information about anyone over the phone, unless I am the one making the call.

These calls are coming from a "law firm" which is a front for a company known as Regent Asset Management Solution Inc. (I have put their info below this message).

Its the same call every time, some recorded message. They will call, and call, and call even when they have been told in no uncertain terms THEY HAVE THE WRONG NUMBER. Good luck dealing with d-bags at the call center!

They are trying to extort money out of you via harassment, as there is no other explanation for intentionally calling the wrong number several times. I have called, emailed, and I am now about to send a cease and desist letter... but the calls continue.

Please feel free to contact these @-holes, and let them know what you think of the slimeball operation!

if you ever received a call from a collection agency, they never leave a message with facts. Simply there is an urgent matter to discuss or verify information.  But as one person noted these posts started recently.  So either the agency that was handling your account, sold the debt to another firm or it is a scam!

don't loose sleep over these guys- it is random calling and they dont even know who they are looking for- just anyone dumb enough to give out personal info. They are calling my mothers house and doing the same thing- my father recently died and she has gotten this one and another very similar- won't say WHO they are with or what it is really about- and they have NO debt.

I received a telephone call from "John Nelson" at 7:24 pm. When I returned the call before 9:00 pm, nobody was in the office. The message seemed like it was that of a law firm. It said to press 1 for the extention number, 2 for if you've received a lawsuit from their attorneys, and 3 for if you'd like to sign up for a wage garnishment release. I'm really confused as to what this company is. Are they a collection agency, a law firm/process server, or a scam? The message was pretty scary. Normally, I'm asleep at this time (12:22 am), but I am literally losing sleep over this.

I just got this call about 5 minutes ago. I did answer on the first ring, but the message stated it couldn't leave a message on the machine. It was a recorded message. My machine wasn't even on. There was static on my line and I could barely hear the guy, but did catch something about discrepancies in my account. He didn't ask for anyone in particular.

I got the SAME call about 3 weeks ago

Regent Asset management is not a legitimate collector.  They knowingly violate the FDCPA.  I have turned over the history of their contact to me to my State's Attorney General's Office.  Their claims against me are not valid, yet the calls & even written threats continue.  I have formally asked for a full media validation of the claimed debt and they can not produce it - only more threats they will sue if I don't pay them.  They are claiming I owe on an account with a bank I have ever done business with, and I have verified nothing abnormal shows on my credit account.

Do not give this company ANY information.  It is a pure scam.

Debt Collector
Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act a reputable debt collector is not allowed to communicate derogatory information concerning a debtor to third parties.  Debt Collectors, in general, will use the information they garner from these phone calls in order to send a debt collection notice to your current residence.  If a Debt Collector violates the FDCPA they are subject to a $1000 fine, per instance, under Federal Law...  That would be why they refuse to communicate the reason why they are calling.

The best thing to do in these instances is to tell them who you are if they ask.  Then, assuming they are a legitimate debt collector (as seems to be the case here) ask them to verify the debt in accordance with the FDCPA.  Finally, verify whether an actual debt may very well exist under the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act).  You can request a free annual report from any of the three major credit reporting agencies by going to www.annualcreditreport.com  (NOT freecreditreport.com!).

My advice is to deal with this company before they sell the debt to a less legitimate company that doesn't comply with the FDCPA - those are a pain in the a**.  If you'd rather not follow that course of action, that's also fair enough.  All the same, the above information is intended for educational purposes only.  Any of the information outlined above does not constitute legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship.

This information is gathered from over six months spent as a Legal Assistance Attorney for the U.S. Army.

Well I called them back.  The name of the company is Regent Asset Management.  They are collecting on an old US Bank account.  He told me I had until 5:00 to call back with payment before he put his "stamp of approval" on moving forward, whatever that means.  Doesn't scare me.

Also just received a call from these guys - if you Google 877-792-0095 it's the same guys.

And same as everyone else - my voice mail started off with "....but I can't leave that information on an answering machine.  Give me a call back at ..... "  So it's obviously automated.

I don't think I'll call back.

I got a call with the same thing other people are posting. First of the message was cut off, so I'm thinking it must have been a recording. When I called back "John" was on a conference call, but had conveniently given the guy on the phone my file. He said I was the person they were looking for, and asked if I knew "Jean Laforest". I said I have no idea who that is. He said "Thank you for your cooperation" and hung up on me. This is incredibly fishy. I asked the name of the company and he said "Regent" or something like that.

This is a scam.  Don't believe what people are posting here.  No professional would call and leave such a cryptic message.  Ridiculous.

All of these posts have been within the last few days.  If there is another person on the other line then they will try to get information out of you to potentially use against you in a scam.  Do not call.
