Scam! Do not call, just delete. Banks will never text you, only call you directly! Think smart!

I've tried contacting sprint and there isn't anything that they can do, so they say. So far it seems that Sprint has yet to give a crap and investigate this issue although they have the means. I've gotten great results from sending letters to corporate on other issues, so I may just have to go that route. I wish herpes on anyone that would scam someone like this.

I am extremely annoyed..since I started getting this text daily! Has anyone heard if Sprint is doing anything about this? I just tried contacting Sprint but after 15min of waiting I decided to hang up. I just want to make sure that if I change my phone number it is not going to start all over again.

Same thing is happening to me right now. These people must think idiots use Sprint because we are also Sprint consumers. The bells went off almost immediately that this is a scam. I mean, hello, the least they could do is make it sound a little more professional and maybe use a company people have acutally heard of. Nonetheless, we are not calling. Glad this post was here to confirm my suspicions.

I get these f-ing texts on my phone daily, and shy of making a realistic threat I'd love to: see the perpetrators strung up by their nuts after being skull and a** raped, dipped in gasoline and set a blaze. Then hosed off after just a minute or two, and thrown in the Great Salt Lake. If I ever find out who it is though, I'll probably just knee them in the nuts so hard, they'll still be on the ground crying when the FBI shows up to haul them off. Pathetic criminals really really really piss me off.

I looked up Plus4 CU and it is an actual Credit Union and this is on their website. Not sure how we are getting the text if we aren't customers though
ALERT
Attention Plus4 members, be suspicious of any e-mail, text message or phone call with urgent requests for your personal financial information. Do not open unsolicited e-mails or text messages. Any e-mail or text message asking for you to call a toll-free number to verify account information should be deleted. Never provide your personal information or account information based on an e-mail, phone call or text request.
Calls from someone who claims to be a Plus4 representative and knows your credit/debit card account number ? but who wants the three-digit code on the back of the card for whatever reason - should be treated the same way, hang up and contact Plus4 Credit Union as soon as possible.
Please remember that Plus4 Credit Union, DOES NOT e-mail, text message or telephone our members asking for personal information such as debit card number, pin number, complete social security numbers, dates of birth, etc. For that matter, no legitimate company that you do business with solicits this information. received text message from "oezxwb@messaging.sprintpcs.com" at 4:27 PM on June 8th, 2009:
Plus4 Credit-Union has deactivated your DebitCard. To reactivate call 8775561334.
I obviously knew better than to call the number. Hope others are aware as well. As someone mentioned, your bank will NEVER send you a text message with sensitive information.
Sprint and Nextel have now merged, so it wouldn't surprise me if both sets of customers are being spammed.
GKS 2009-06-09 20:24:50 Unknown
Update: Now the number does not seem to work.
GKS 2009-06-09 20:23:55 Unknown
I did call the number, because there's no way they would be able to track it. You will get a recording asking you to key in your credit card number. I tried by inputing a random 16 digit number, and they said the card number was invalid. So - don't know the point of this. Has to be some kind of scam, though.

I got this email yesterday nad today! Should I call Sprint?
Jammie Jam 2009-06-09 13:44:23 Unknown

ys 2009-06-09 06:00:25 Unknown
i got the same txt message, i didn't call because it looked like a scam. a bank would never send you a txt message from some random address and not the right card number. my txt was from giydlp@sms.nextel.com; but i have sprint so i wonder if these scammers have sprint and nextel numbers.
TallTexan 2009-06-09 04:21:01 Unknown
Same type of text message here from that number, referencing the same Plus 4 CU. Do people actually fall for that sort of thing???
jjfromtx 2009-06-08 23:41:50 Unknown
same here...text message telling me my debit card with Plus 4 has been deactivated and to call that number.
I wonder if this is one of those scams where you call and it is some scam where you wind up with a HUGE long distance phone bill????? No I did not call....
hopper 2009-06-08 23:31:01 Unknown

sbtx99 2009-06-08 22:27:19 Unknown
It's a scam. I also received a text message saying "Plus-4-Credit-Union has deactivated your 449521XXXXXXXXXX debit-card" and to call this number "8775561334". I do not do business with this credit union, I've never heard of Plus-4-Credit-Union.
Sharona 2009-06-08 22:25:28 Unknown
I received the same information as above. Total scam. They must have a list of Sprint numbers
KM 2009-06-08 21:45:16 Unknown
I have received 2 text messages saying that Plus4 CU has deativated my debit card to reactivate call 8775561334. I do not utilize a credit union. both of these messages came from a different number/user. 1 came from oudtzl@sms.nextel.com and the other from ydfyyy@messaging.sprintpcs.com.
