In the USA, I've been on the the DNC list since 2007 and I just filed a complaint with the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION www.ftc.gov...do it online, the sooner the better.
As an extra layer of cattiness, I setup my outgoing message announcing that "my number is on that list and to hang up, do not ever call this number as long as it's active -- there are laws for that..."

A couple months ago I received an identity theft attempt on my cell phone. Fortunately I was on to it and didn't provide any personal information. Since then, about 1/wk, I get voice messages left on my voice mail from this number (8772917014) from a person named Mary requesting that I call a Ron Kennedy about a file refered to his office. I am suppose to call 877-591-0433. They don't identify company or business and I have no idea what it's about, I don't know anyone by that name, and I have no pending business with anyone. I'm certainly not going to waste my time by calling them. I have just signed up on the 'Do Not Call' registry and I am keeping a log of unknown callers. I suspect it is an identify theft attempt.

Who are these harassing calls coming from, I get half of a mess. cutting in an out..., I could use a job also, in this economy..but harassing a phone, I pray from heart, to God...don't let it be me...I've heard these people get info from old previous, bills, I am sure most have paid, if they haven't they probably cannot at this time...

I just received a call from this number. The caller's name was Mary, and she informed me that I MUST call Ron Kennedy at (877) 591-0433, regarding a file that has been referred to their office. I didn't return a call, and suggest that you do not either.

Msg says it's urgent I call Joe Kennedy....no company name, nothing else to the message. Since I don't know a Joe Kennedy, I'm not calling back.
