Skeeter, that immunity is only for the state that the Tribe created the company or that it resides in, not the entire country.

To add to Amanda's post, they are illegal in the state of Florida. You must pay the amount that you borrowed ONLY. I have a letter from Florida's AG on file with all 3 credit agencies so that they cannot file anything.

Send them a cease & desist letter via certified mail so they can't say they didn't get it. Then if it continues, report them to your State Attorney General, DOJ, and the FTC and Consumer finance:

Caller from 8778200157 is calling a business where I work and asking to speak to HR?! It's illegal to ask for someone at their work and ask for HR when you are a bill collector!

This number is from United Cash Loans. I've paid them off through some third party and refuse to pay another dime. On another note, be VERY careful where you share your phone number and SS #, ESPECIALLY online. When you fill out "pre-approved" offers, sweepstakes, or even online loans from a non-banking institution website, they WILL sell your information to third parties. Be careful.

I borrowed 400 from them in feb. 2012 they took out 120.00 a week from my pay till june i closed my checking account ,so they couldn't rob me of more and they started calling my job and family members i used as references, threating with police and feds lol...my bank said ignore them but one day 2 weeks ago i answered the phone to my dismay it was some guy asking for 425.00 to close the account i basically told him where he can go and hung up,and still getting the calls :(

these people keep calling me i wish they would stop calling me i dont need a loan from them.

United Cash Loans is owned by a federally-recognized Native American tribe (The Miami Tribe of Oklahoma), and as such, it is immune from state law on the grounds of tribal sovereignty. It is NOT, however, immune from FEDERAL law -- specifically the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.
There's nothing that the North Carolina Attorney General can do to stop the calls, but the Federal Trade Commission, the newly-created federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the consumer protection division of the U.S. Justice Department can do PLENTY to put a stop to them.

These people just called my phone again, but from a different number. I have told them numerous times they have the wrong number. Now I am pissed.

FYI if you get a $300 payday loan and go the term of their loan payments you will have paid them $1,110 back avoid payday loans they are a rip off
| Amanda 2012-09-05 22:58:53 Unknown |
Thanks Arkie for your post!!! I did get a loan from them, but paid them back and then some, to say the least!! Payday loans in NC are ILLEGAL!! I spoke with a rep at the NC State Attorney General's Office, and she advised me to not accept phone calls or to speak with them at all. I am only obligated to pay back what I borrowed. Again, I did so and then some. Leave me alone United Cash Loans, you will never, ever get another red dime from me you crooks!!!
