It's a scam and it appears they are targeting Verizon customers.  I called Verizon Wireless directly and they said my balance is zero and that they never referred me to a debt collector.  Already informed Verizon of this scam and hopefully they will do something about it.  In the meantime, I'm putting my numbers on the National Do Not Call list.  

Don't give these people any information and call Verizon directly via their 800 number on your billing statement.

They call and if get no answer they call back immediately for two more annoying rings. They ought to be JAILED

they say they are debt collectors.  they asked for my social.  I don't believe them.  I have never owed verizon wireless a dime.

keep getting a call from them looking for a James xxxxxx seems to me that they should not be discussing someone's debt problems with a third party

These people called and left a message to call them. When I called they wanted my Social Security number and wouldn't tell me what their call was in reference to or let me speak to a supervisor unless I gave them my number. Fat chance of that happening
