With whom will you be filing charges with, and for what?

I'm assuming you don't actually know what they're calling about to begin with? They're not saying that you have a Total Card ("Total Card, Inc." is their business name) they're calling about a debt - and probably a very old debt which is out of the SOL (statute of limitations, or as I say: s*** out of luck!). Basically, they're a debt collection company and that is it.  There is no card known as the Total Card, though I see how it could be confusing.

Really all you can do is send them a debt validation letter, a cease and desist letter, and if that fails bring them into civil court.  There are no "charges" you can file.

No. They have 30 days and you need to send the letter certified with a return receipt.

The link you posted was sheer garbage.

If anyone wants REAL help and knowledge go to creditboards.com -- it's an open community for people struggling with companies like this.

Would you PLEASE learn how to form a proper sentence?  And for the love of Peter, there is no need for the caps lock.

No one will take anything you have to say seriously if you can't write properly.

Prank Call
I received a letter from this company for a pay day loan back in 2009 with Advance America.  Well, turns out Advance America placed me with a collection agency known as C J C.  They never ever placed my account with TCI, or Total Card, Inc. So, yeah.  I paid off Advance America through the appropriate agency and still received a letter to settle my account.

*rolls eyes

Their poorly and very tacky letter hinted that they were full of horse s*** -- calling the original creditor just confirmed it.
If they continue to harass you or send letters, send a cease and desist letter. (Google it) The DNC registry doesn't work for these types of companies because they are not soliciting anything -- they're apparently a collection agency.

same story here.  I got a message on my answering machine this morning- a recorded message for a "Garzagorio" to call 1-877-878-3005 concerning business I/they are currently conducting.  I've never heard of anyone name "Garzagorio", I'm not even sure if that is supposed to be a first name or a last name!

This morning had a recorded call from them on my answering machine asking for a "Garzagorio" to call them back at 1-877-878-3005 regarding buisness I/they are currently conducting.  I get a lot of wrong numbers (new phone number) but "Garzagorio" is a new one - I'm not even sure if that is supposed to be a first name or a last name.

Got a new phone line and have been receiving a bunch of calls for several different people and companies since it was activated.  I now have to go through that hassel of telling these people that they have the wrong number.  Some take me off their calling lists but others just don't seem to understand I do not have a business.  877-878-3005 doesn't even tell me who they are.

Just got a message from 877-878-3005 that said to return call regarding business that I am currently conducting.  I have a feeling that this is a debt that is over 10 years old.  Interestingly enough, even though they have the 877 number in the message, the Caller ID gave 510-962-4586.  Are these places routing numbers depending on what state they are calling?  I refuse to call them back.  Anyone have a guess as to why there are separate phone numbers?
Thanks

Received call from 806-589-5842, recorded message naming an employee and asking to her them call back to 1-877-878-3005.  Just for kicks I called the number back, the voice mail message said Thank You for calling Total Card. Did some research on the internet.  Collection agency with not so good ethics.  Lots of complaints against them.  Not BBB accredited.  Be Very Careful of information you give them.

Our company does not forward these messages to our employees, if they are a legtimate company they should have a home or cell number to contact the person.

Automated calls from this scam artist have continued for nearly 4 years. The  message is of the order, " This message is for 'John Doe'.  (John Doe in this case, has never lived at this residence or even in this state.)  It is not a sales call but about a business you are presently conducting.......please call 1-877-878-3005."

I got the repeated computer voice mail for a person I have no contact with but am related to some nine times removed distantly "concerning a business matter..."  They called me using a local number that I assume was spoofed.  I finally called them back at the 877-878-3005 number using a phone number that I will not use again.  The first thing you hear is a recording "this is an attempt to collect a debt ..."  and a request that you enter the phone number that you were called/messaged at.  After I entered the number, a rude, abrupt, snappy woman just all full of attitude came on the phone.  She asked for my name, I gave my first name only and said I was not the person they were looking for.  She told me they don't call wrong numbers.  I pointed out in this case they did and she hung up on me.  I called back immediately.  Got the same person with the same attitude.  I knew of three calls to me they had made.  She told me they had made seven and that all calls are recorded.  She told me that my number had been removed after my last call two minutes ago.  I guess time will tell, but I'm not exactly confident.

Called from this number 651-319-9324. Caller ID shows Dr. Barry Stromberg.

Google lists the number as belonging to a dentist in Stillwater Minnesota.

Stromberg Barry Dr 13961 60th St N Stillwater, MN 55082-1053 651-319-9324 health & medicine dentists.

The dentist is real but that is not his number. Makes you wonder if he knows.

Left message says to call 1-877-878-3005, says not a sales call but calling in reference about business you are now conducting.......please call this number back.

I had a call from them two days ago.  The message said not a marketing call.  I called them back , for some reason they had my name but I could not figure out why they had this phone number because when I buy something or ?  I use my cell phone number , this house phone number is listed under someone else's name.
At first I was appalled , because I could not figure out why they said I owed money to Credit one. I thought it was an old one because many years ago I filed bankruptcy but could not remember names included in it.  I just told them I did not owe anyone anything I had paid up the debt and told them not to call again. They said I had to do it in writting. Afterwards I got to thinking so I checked out credit one out of Los Angeles, I never had a card from Credit one. So I revised the letter I was sending and told them so , stating they were trying to scam me and I was going to turn them into the State Attorney in California.  I also sent the letter requesting a signature it was received, so they cannot keep calling and say they did not get it.  I like covering my tracks

- I received a phone call on my cell
- The ID showed 408-340-7783 (campbell, CA)
- A voice msg was left asking me, by first name,  to call  877-878-3005.
- Though it was a local call, yet I was suspicious, and used my work phone to call back  both phone numbers.
.
- The phone message, when calling back,  said it was "Total Card" company.
and that, "This is an attempt to collect debt, and information used to obtain...."

I hung up after that.

my situation is EXACTLY like yours.......victem of identity theft years ago and they are now calling my mom. VERY HARASSING. i already filed a compliant with the att gen office, but i was told that these fly by night companies shift numbers around all the time so they are hard to trace and hard to track down which company is actually making the calls. unfortunately, when they called my mom aactually gave them my number and told them the city i now live in. she's elderly and they definitely intimidated her into believing i was in big trouble if i did nto call and "pay up".  people who have not been thru somethign like this have no idea of the level of frustration it causes. good luck to all,

This outfit is a Fraud. This is a flagrant violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Document what they are doing and find a consumer / personal injury attorney. This fraud is using spoofed local numbers to hide their identity, giving out information protected by FDCPA, harassing people by calling relatives and associates, etc. These jerks are lowering the reputation of an industry with perhaps the worst reputation possible. It's giving scum a bad name.

This company may be using a local number to hide who they are.  They called using a local number, looking for someone else but the callback number is the 877-878-3005 so that seems to be the new tactic that these companies are using now.  Unfortunately for them, the number they use doesn't give a descriptive Caller ID (only states the city and state of the number they're using) so that does no good if they call people who only pick up their phones for numbers and Caller IDs they recognize.

Demand they validate the debt they are harassing your in-laws about. This is your right under the FDCPA and they have five days to respond.

My in-law got a call looking for me under my madien name.  I've been married for 10 years and I haven't had a credit card under my madien name for 15 years of more and the one I did have was paid off and closed (I went to just using a Visa debt card/cash).  I have NO clue what this about.  The really weird thing is that they are calling my in-laws. they are not calling my house, my cell phone or my parents house.  They told my mother-in-law that it was information I gave to them.

This person called my parents house asking to speak to me and i dont know who this is or how they got my parents number as i do not give that information out. These people need to remove their information from their list. If they want to talk to me they have my contact information and they can contact me directly.. Again I do not know who this is.. They did not give a name of company or the name of the person calling. Just stated that this message was for me and to contact them about a personal business matter..
