I skip traced for Discover card for about 4 years. A skip tracer uses third party consumer information databases and credit reports to track down missing contact information(valid phone and mailing address),invalid contact information, or out-dated contact information on a card member's account.

Finding a debter's information is disturbingly easy and can span as far back as the late 70's.
So I could type in an address that you gave us and pull up every single occupant, their social security number, possible linked phone numbers and age. I will call every single number I see linked to you to try and reach you and if it's a wrong number I'll call it back in a couple of days because a lot of debters screen their calls because they are deadbeat liars. Seriously, if you lie to a debt collector about your identity then you are a scummy dead beat liar, we all feel that way and only other dead beats are sympathetic to their self imposed debt suffocation... it's pathetic.

Anyways, stop ducking collectors, pay your debt and be a better person. Read ALL fine print and don't blame others for your own problems. Go get a second job, collect cans, sell the useless s*** you bought and clearly couldn't afford...

Stop living beyond your means! If you can't pay cash for it and still meet all of your other bills then don't f****ng buy it. It's really simple...

Idiots... all of you.

They are scammers........taking old debts from years ago off your credit report and try and get you to pay them for it.  don't fall for it.  They have a phoney address and many phone numbers.   There are too many of theses companies for the government to get them all. They keep changing their names. don't send them any money. change your phone number is the only way to stop them from calling, If you block this number they have 100 more to keep calling you. Good luck.

I've gotten 2 calls in the last 5 days from this number.  After getting the recorded message to press a number to speak to an agent, I hung up.  Called the number back and heard it was some collection agency.  I pay everything on time and have no outstanding bills, so can't understand why a collection agency is calling me!!! Must have the wrong person I'm guessing...I have a common name.

Never had any dealing with these folks but they are constantly calling my number and asking for OTHER folks and I'll be damned it they are going to continue to harrass me for something that someone else did.  I am on disability but I live up to the responsibility of a credit card and pay my bill every month, if I though t that it was this easy to just say the hell with you and skip out on what I owe that is wrong as well.  File bankrupcy and pay a attorney to speak for you and then this will never happen to honest  folks that are trying to make the best out of what little they have coming in ~ like myself.  Cell phone numbers are legal if you didn't register them with the DO NOT CALL LIST!   Also by the way if you think that they don't know who your family is "WRONG" that is very is to find out and believe for as many people that they they go after in a day the pkg. rate to get all the information is real cheap.  These Debt Collectors are money hungry evil snakes and will go after anyone for a little bit of money.  I think that there should be a law against this, but I am a citizen just like you.  Pissed off at them calling and interrupting my meal or please time.  I think that they ought to get another job and stay out of our business

I dont owe these people a dime if they have bought an old debt of mine then why would you owe them anything? If the origonal creditor has written it off and sold it for pennies on the dollar then why pay them a dime for something they never had.I fell victim to the credit cards a few years back when you would receive about 10 offers a day in the mail and then when the econmy dried up thanks BUSH credit cards made it easy to get by but in the end wound up putting you in quicksand debt that you cant recover from just like the rest of the country ie gmac, banks, the goverment which all fell and are a hell of alot bigger than me but seem to have an endless supply of money to help them out where the working man who is down on his luck has no one so if my petty sum I owe is going to go to make a low life bloodsucker line his pockets for doing nothing other than kicking someone while there down they can kiss my A$$ and do something to help people not destroy them.

WHERE'S MY BAILOUT?????????

If you actually owe money, it's best to pay up.  If these people have the authority to collect a legitimate debt, that's one thing, but if they can't demonstrate via verifiable documents that they have the right to collect on a legitimate debt, hire a lawyer.  I had to do that once - some company claiming to be an attorney's office with rights to collect a suspicious debt actually sued me after I disputed the debt.  I hired a lawyer, and for less than $300, I had the case dismissed for lack of prosecution (no legitimate documents authorizing to collect existed).  My guess is that the clowns who own this number are of the same ilk.  If you owe money, pay up.  If you don't get a lawyer.

they keep calling me. I dont answer. I dont know who it is. They dont leave message. Lately, I have been getting all kinds of calls fron everywhere. mI always do a search and write a complaint. One woman from a 702 area code told me I had 24hrs to return her call. She has wrong number first of all, and leaving that message is not legal. I contacted the attorney general, they said any and all debtors have to contact you by mail and you have 30 days to respond. Im on disability,  This is getting to be annoying. They call all hours of day.

If you have ever left your cell number as a secondary contact number with any business or hospital, they can get it because they have access to those forms.

You're not breaking off communications, they still have the good old post office to communicate through. Which should be their first course of action, NOT their last! PUT IT IN WRITING

Everytime a collector calls you, you are entitled to a cash settlement for each call they make. Each call is worth at least $1000 dollars. This is only if you have a lawyer. If you have a lawyer and told the bill collector about it, then write down each time they call you and sue them.

No sending a Cease and Desist letter does not get you sued for breaking communications with them - IT requires that they do all contact via MAIL only.

That cease communications letter is intended to stop the phone calls only.
They are still required to provide debt validation and communicate with you. VIA MAIL!     Since they fabricate most of what they provide in writing, it is important to INSIST THEY DO EVERYTHING IN WRITING!

You are still required to do the research and dispute the validity of the so-called "debt" they are trying to collect.

Unfortunately it isn't. And they don't CARE.

The FDCPA prohibits third party collection agencies from calling between 9PM-8AM local time. Sundays aren't excluded.

If you want them to stop calling you all together, you have to send a cease communication letter. Of course if you do that, it gives them Carte Blanche to sue you for supposedly breaking off communications with them.

It's damned if you do...and damned if you don't.
