Good point, but actually, anyone can type random numbers into the site all day long if they want - there's not even a simple cookie implementation to keep even non-techies from abusing this "service". The company (who is only looking to sell it to other orgs) seems perfectly happy to aid and abet prank callers just to make a buck.

To be clear, I am not sympathetic to either side of the shutdown issue. Congress deserves all the harassment they get, but the average citizen does not.

Prank Call
You all realize that this is a legitimate service and that the company is not pranking you, it is someone you know entering your phone number in the field to prank you. Go get them back! The company that made this has plenty of articles written about what it is and why it exists, do a little research and lighten up a bit! Or at least direct your anger towards the morons in Congress.

Political Call
This appears to be nothing more than a massive advertising campaign for a marketing company called Revolution Messaging to advertise their viral services. Do people realize they are spam-calling voters? Is that even legal? I know it?s at least shady...

A retweet from  the CEO Scott Goodstein?s twitter account @SGcatalyst: ?The creativity, tools and beautiful design behind DrunkDialCongress.org? are available for your organization. Just contact @revmsg

And what?s funny is they didn?t need to bug us: The site is being shamelessly plugged all over the place: http://finance.yahoo.com/video/drunk-dial-congress-155300719.html

I understand a lot of people are frustrated by the government shutdown; but these kind of intrusive tactics are beyond the pale.

Googling Scott Goodstein, you find that he worked for the Obama 2008 campaign: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/01/obama-chief-tec.html

And is apparently against spamming voters when it?s done by the party he dislikes: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/scott-goodstein ... _b_1560782.html

I've had 4 calls from this # on my personal phone, and a few on my work cell as well.  Sounds like an intoxicated guy, the call transfers you to a supposed House of rep member. David Steele, bob, it's different every call.  I blocked the #, hope it stops now.

My fiancé just got a call from this same number and it was an automated voice. Sounded like a drunk guy saying the shutdown makes him wanna drink and it started ringing in the Washington, D.C. Congress office.
