University of Maryland recruiting/admissions number

It is the University of Maryland, University College.  I receive several calls per day but it only rings once.  I think that they may use outside telemmarketers who call and then hang up so you will call back on UM's nickel.

These people called me and harrassed me for MONTHS last year, and finally stopped. That is, until they called me again literally 5 minutes ago. I called them and told them that I'm already enrolled at a university that I'll be graduating from next year and that I have no idea how they got my information. The woman I spoke with told me she would mark down that I'm enrolled somewhere else and that I shouldn't get anymore calls. We'll see.

I signed up for information for UMUC and this guy, Damian, has repeatedly called and harassed me for my student ID number. After I failed to give it to him, he got even more insistent and made it sound like I was being unreasonable!! When I try to call this number back, no one answers. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

IF you ever signed up for, or took classes from, the University of Phoenix/Axia College, they sold your # to these telemarketers. I knew this because I just recently got a new digital phone # and the only people I gave the # to (other than family) was Phoenix so they could call me about my classes. My # is unlisted and on the Do Not Call list.

I think I get a call from this number and some other "university of [insert location here]" once a week. I never answer because I don't answer to numbers that are not registered on my contacts list mainly because I have a tracfone. I really wish they would stop though, I'm getting tired of my phone vibrating in class or while I'm trying to sleep/study.

i was in class. i didnt answer they left a voicemail. it was starge though, as if the person was on the highway or something it was about 5 seconds long. hopefully they dont start calling me as ive read from the blogs.

I too have been receiving many phone calls. I also received two email. I was able to unsubscribe from the emails and reported it as spam in my gmail account. I haven't received any more of those but the 2-3 phone calls a day are annoying. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST!

this number has called me know 13 times in the past 8 days. Several times when I'm in class.  I've told them I'm not interested and I was continuing with the University I am currently at, but they do not seem to get it.

They call every morning to my cell at 10:30 AM and every afternoon to my cell at 2:30 PM PST.  I never answer and I see this is not going to end.

We have received 3 or 4 calls from this number and when weq answer no one is there.

I feel it is harassment and also that there is someone spying on my computer and other times and making these harassing phone calls. Is there a way to get a lawyer to find the origin of this number and cut it off? Or is this being done on someone's authority? Then the authority is definitely berserk! It can't be a real University phone number as reported on this page, but when I called back at this number I did get a message about University of Maryland! Someone needs to check out as to who is misusing their phone to harass women and invading privacy! I wonder if it has anything to do with any Conservative crap..

I have the same complaint, I keep getting unsolicited calls from this number 1-888-473-7094, and I get unsolicited spam emails apparently from the University of Maryland. I wonder if these are from anyone genuinely representing the university or just some hoax persons. Someone needs to take away this number and its services being used this way to harass everyone.

I almost guarantee that they are from Florida they are the same company scam that did the car warranty insurance...It sounds so familiar due to the fact they hang up so fast when you talk to them.....They are Turds...It is fun to play with them if you are bored that is all...LOL ...They just keep calling until there are so many complaints to the attorney general....

Not only did I receive a call this AM, but a couple of emails as well. Even Gmail did not identify it as SPAM, because they use your first name in the subject line.

This number has called my phone everyday for weeks several times a day.  When i called THEM to ask them to stop calling, I was immediately and repeatedly hung up on by several arrogant and immature males, who identified themselves with the University of Maryland.  These calls are obviously not legitimate and are connected with some kind of scam.

I SUGGEST THAT EVERYONE START HARRASSING THE HARASSERS.  CALL THIS 888-473-7094 NUMBER EVERY CHANCE YOU GET JUST LIKE THEY DO TO ALL OF US NORMAL PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO BE LEFT ALONE LOL.  AND WHEN THEY ANSWER START ASKING THEM THE QUESTIONS!

this number is calling my cell phone everyday five times a day!  even close to 9 pm!  i finally called THEM.  They identified themselves as the University of Maryland and i was immediately and repeatedly hung up on by several arrogant, ,immature, young-sounding males when i asked to be removed from their call list.  They had ZERO explanation for why they were calling.  EVERYONE NEEDS TO REPORT THIS NUMBER TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES.

I'm having the same problem. They call on average about five times a day, NEVER leave a message, and call even after you tell them you are not interested. Anyone know of a way to put an end to the calling? Thanks

Caller stated he was from the University if Maryland.  He stated he was calling from Florida regarding on line classes.  He tried repeatedly to get me to answer questions and I felt like he was trying to record my answers of "yes" "no"  .  I immediately ended the call when I suspected this was a con artist.  BEWARE!

I reported the phoen number to the Attorney General's office and would suggest you do the same via on line forms.

I received a call from 888-473-7094 this morning and it was also from the University of Maryland.  They have been calling me from 800-896-1038 for weeks, and I have repeatedly told them I?m not interested and please stop calling.  Now they have just switched number.

We received 3 phone calls this morning from 3 different people at the University of Maryland.  They wanted to discuss undergraduate studies.  This is totally unsolicited.
