got a text, called the number from a land-line phone. the caller had a thick accent and claimed they were based out of Oregon. I was not comfortable and declined the scam

This number is having other numbers text your cell phones to claim a $200 Target gift card. Text from 917-306-8425. I hope VZW or BlackBerry comes up with a call app to block these things.

My husband has been getting the same message about a $200.00 gift card for Target. He just replied STOP to the text and we will see if it does.

I got the same message. Called back to ask for the name of the company and address. They claim to be called "Players Vacation Club" located in Portland Oregon. No street name was given.

I called the number back...888.505.8649 & informed them I was on the Do Not Call Database & threatened to file a complaint against them. They were quick to verify my phone # & add it to their Do Not Call list. Hope it works, otherwise I WILL be filing a complaint.
