We recently moved away and terminated service with Nicor, but have automatic payment set up for the final bill, so there's no legitimate reason for them to be phoning us about payment. Would sure be nice if they'd BE there to speak to me when they dial me.

I think I'll send NICOR a bill for using my phone to do their business!

Keeping call my cell phone. And when I say they keep calling they call about 6 times a day for two days and then they stop. A month or so later they do the same thing.  When I ran a search on google it does say on the Nicor website that this is their phone number. So annoying since my bill is paid.  I don't even know why these places bother since they can easily be blocked.

I'm not so sure it is Nicor as others say. IF it truly was a legitimate call from Nicor, they'd very likely leave a message. My guess is that it's a scammer claiming they're Nicor in order to scare people into paying money they don't owe. Unfortunately, this is becoming tremendously common today. These people play on the minds of the eldery and the weak-minded. If people would cease allowing themselves to be intimidated by calls like this, these scammers would stop playing these games.

This is NICOR Gas. They are calling to collect a bill. If you call and make arrangements when you will pay your bill than the calls will stop.

I GET CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER AT LEAST 2 A WEEK. I ALWAYS TELL THE PERSON THAT I AM NOT THE SPANISH WOMAN THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO CONTACT.  I TELL THEM THEY ARE USING THE WRONG NUMBER BUT I CAN'T SEEM TO GET THEM TO STOP CALLING ME.

Nicor calls my home at least three times a month regarding my "Nicor Account" trying to get me to pay money to keep my service from being disconnected. I DON"T HAVE A NICOR ACCOUNT!! I tell them the same thing every time. The last time was yesterday, and I informed the aggressive gentleman on the other end that Nicor should receive notice from my lawyer soon.

I told the caller from 888 642 6748 that I am NOT Rob she is looking for. This happened over and over again, but this number continues to call me, asking about the same question.

This drives me crazy!

Not real sure it is NICOR as other people have called(different gas supplier) and it showed Nicor on caller ID. If it is Nicor they never leave a message so I figure must be some kind of sales call.

They have called me 4 times over last 2 weeks. When I pick up they say, "please hold. I am trying to connect you to a call on this line... Still trying.... I'm sorry, I cannot connect at this time. I will try again later." These calls are very annoying.

No one answers they will transfer call and no message if its important they leave a vm like everyone else

BTW - I've had 3 calls from this number today, and about 10 over the last month.

In general, I do not answer numbers I don't recognize and never call back if a message is not left. They call... and call... and call. Idiots is right.  At least if you leave a message, I *might* call you back, even if you have a wrong number.

Apparently its Nicor Gas. However, as we just set up service two weeks ago and have yet to receive a bill not sure what they would be calling repeatedly for... 4 times today alone in 4 hours!

Whenever I answer there is no one there. Caller id says "toll free".

If it's NiCor, I don't understand why they keep calling.  I've made payment.

It's Nicor Gas.  But don't know why they are calling because when I pick up, no one answers and when they call, they don't leave a message.  
If it's about my bill, I assume they will just send something in the mail because right now they are playing phone tag.  
It would be nice to leave a automated message that says "please call nicor gas back at ext 0000 at your earliest convinance."   or something to that nature.  Guess I will find out soon enough :(

No one at the other end. If its NICOR, I don't have any service with them. They claimed that the property is VACANT!!!! I have lived here continuously since March 28, 1989. On Jan 9, 2012 they pulled out the gas main that I HAD PAID THEM $500 TO HAVE INSTALLED CLAIMING THAT THE PROPERTY IS VACANT AND THE GAS LINE WAS A SAFETY HAZZARD!!!!!! WHAT KIND OF B***S*** IS THAT. I haven't had any gas for over 3 years following MY ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH TO A COMPEATING SUPPLIER, (i.e. SCHELL OILS NATURAL GAS DIVISION) THAT IS NOT THEM IN DISQUIZE.

They keep calling me asking for some other person.  EVERY time, I tell them I'm not her, I've had this number for years, and they need to change the file.  I don't have a Nicor gas account.  They've probably called me about 15 times, and I continue to tell them they've got the wrong number.

I Googled the number.  Its NICOR.  I cancelled my service and they said they were going to call me to confirm.  I didnt answer because I was at work.

I reported this caller yesterday. At 6:10 PM last night the caller finally left a message after 5 prior calls throughout the day. Idiots!!! This number belongs to NICOR GAS. I live in the Chicago, IL suburbs if that will help anyone out in case they look this up in the future. They wasted a whole day calling my home every hour or 2 before leaving a message and sending an Email, both yesterday evening. Doesn't surprise me though, previous dealings have been absolutely incredible at times with them!

Well, I was surprised to see only one report for this number. I have had 4 calls today starting out at exactly 8 AM. No idea who it is yet as I disconnect my regular phone service and went to MJ  so only have caller ID with phone number. Getting pissed at charities, services or just  about everyone not leaving any message!!! If they are going to call the number and not leave a message then don't call back every hour or two because I don't pick it up either which way!!!!

Annoying calls from this number and when answered, no response from the caller. Calling my house every 20 minutes it feels. Also has been happening for a few days now.
