This number calls me EVERY DAY between 9 and 11 in the morning. I answer the phone every time and every time they hang up on me. They call my job phone and they always wait for me to finish answering with my greeting then they hang up. 2 days ago I picked up the phone but didn't say anything. A few seconds later I heard someone say hello so I said hello... then they hung up.

It's SunTrust alright!  This is the number you call to ask questions about your credit card.  They SAY they only call as a 'courtesy' to remind cardholders of their payment being late.  I can tell you unequivocally that this is a lie.  They have been calling me 4 to 6 times a day (letting the phone ring 3 times, hang up, call again a few seconds later, repeat one or two more times daily).  I never answer because I know it's a machine.  Since I NEVER pay late on my SunTrust card, their only other reason to call me is to try to sell me something.  These guys are slime.  (Presumably they can ignore the no call list because I have a business relationship with them.)  After 5 tries I have now been told that I have to fax a request in writing to them in order to stop it.  Can't say if it works or not and no one can say how long it will take, but I faxed that sucker to them about 20 times, just to be sure they got it.  Fax number:  407-762-5026

This number called me twice today: 1st 8:00 am & 2nd 6:21pm. No ID just the number with an instruction to call back. I never responded, just listened to the voicemail.  Now I'm posting this for everyone to be aware of this SCAM!

Caller ID said Unavailable. I did not answer, nor did they leave a message. I see by reading this page that it is SunTrust Bank. I dont have any account at SunTrust and never have.

I just got a call and my message said it is for VSAC about student loans.

Definitely  a scam  collections call,
as the number is listed for another company...located in Florida  or is it the Flower shop in New York?

SAFEST BET, call the branch you deal with and/or the customer service number that's on your credit card or statement.  Ask if they're trying to reach you, because you've been called by (or told to call) this number ...whatever the situation is.

That way, YOU are going through numbers you KNOW are correct.  If they verify the 888-893-1773 number is a valid one, then they need to put some type of notice on your statements or something, so you feel comfortable it's NOT a scam.

Got a call from this number: called back and got in touch with Suntrust Bank representative.  They needed to talk to one of my family member.  I asked if this matter could be discuss at a Suntrust bank, representative gave a user ID code.

Suntrust representative was professional, number did not ask for personal info. or marketed anything.  (I guess my family member owed them money or whatever)

I have gotten these calls also, one at 8:30 pm. It happened the day after my credit card payment was due.......I had been on vacation and completely forgotten about it.  Total on the bill was about $80.00!  I usually pay the whole thing off each month.  So I called SunTrust and they didn't know anything about it.  Meanwhile I paid off the credit card (plus $20.00 late fee).  Then got another call..........very suspicious.  So I went to the bank and they traced the number and said it was their company.  But>>>>>.... come on,
one day late??? and calls?  and even after I paid it.........more calls?????? I am ready to switch banks, we have 4 accounts there.  They are very annoying and unprofessional.

This is not a scam.  My cousin works for SunTrust and they are calling about your credit card bill.  This is the same number that shows up on your statement that you receive each month.  They do already have your information, but they need to verify you before they give you information regarding your accounts.

"Please know the call you received is not a SunTrust communication. We will never send emails, text messages, or place telephone calls asking specifically for personal or account information, passwords, Social Security Numbers, PINs, Credit Card or Check Card numbers, or any other confidential information."

Basically, I never really spoke to anyone at this number, but if they asked for anything like SSN, PIN or account number then it is a scam.

Not True, I am not delinquent on any suntrust accounts. I logged into suntrust.com while on the phone with the person and the only card I have from Suntrust is up to date. They are lying and trying to hide it on this board. It is noteworthy that I just cancelled FreeCreditReport.com and now I'm getting people who have my info.

"FactFinder" didn't find the facts and gave you conjecture.  That is SunTrust's number--call them on any number and ask them and they will tell you.

This number is a scam. Suntrust does not know this number. They call to phish info.

This #, 888-893-1773, is a confirmed scammer number. Do not listen to those who say otherwise. NEVER give out your personal information over the phone.

Legit call from Suntrust collectors. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, but after reading the posts above, I called back and dialed thru to speak to a representative. Said I've received several calls from this nimber recently but no message is left. Rep asked for phone number, not any personal information. When I gave it to her, she confirmed they are trying to contact Mr. So&so, apparently the deadbeat who had the number before I did, or who gave them a false number that ended up being mine. Either way, not me. I told her, "wrong number". She said she'd remove it from her list.

Like all of these types of numbers why not just put the company name (ie: SUNTRUST) in the caller ID box instead of TOLL FREE CALL?  Whether it is a collection call or not if it came up on caller ID these sites would not be necessary.  Hasn't anyone figured out if you are dodging calls 800, 866, 877 or 888 numbers will not be anwered?  Good Luck.

This is indeed Suntrust. I didn't know it was ST, because they were just calling and not leaving messages. Eventually I picked up (to request to get off whatever "list" I thought I might be on). Turned out I had a CC account with them that I thought was closed when I moved, but apparently it had been accruing charges, so they were calling to let me know I owed, before it went to collections. They ask you to verify the last four of your SSN, but you can also verify with your address. Anyway, it is legitimately Suntrust.

This really is Suntrust.  They aree calling probablly because you did not pay your credit card bill.  If you still receive paper bills you will see this number at the bottom of that bill or if you go to the Snntrust website and pull up your bill in a pdf format you will see the same number.  Pay your cedit card bill! lol

Call comes every day, at least once, usually more often. Not from SunTrust, we don't bank there and that would be so unprofessional, it would definitely cause customers to flee.
If they are surfing using a computer dialing service, we are doomed to forever being disturbed by this caller.
