This tempico company called Yesterday and was very Rude, I hung up on them! Today at 8:01 am they called a second time. So I tried to reslolve the issue. The lady asked me for my name I gave it to her, she said they were collecting a debt. and she needed my SSN# to verify I am who she is looking for! Very Fishy I think If this company was legitimate they would already have that vital info! She then got very rude so I told here I was going to record the conversation and she said she already was so I started to record her, when I asked her name she said she already gave it. Could you please repeat NO whats youre phone Number? She Hung up! watch out!

TYMPANA: is not a fraud company it is just a collection agency. I work with the company so when customer call back you don't know who is on the phone so you cannot disclose any information as per FEDERAL LAW it would be unfair to a debtor if we left a message and their mother call in and we just tell them about the bill or even for  us to know who is calling we call thousand of people daily. we just try to protect your confidentiality. I GOT A PHONE CALL FROM JENNIFER SMART FROM TYMPANA. SOMEONE ANSWERED AND I GAVE MY PHONE # AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NOTHING FOR THIS PHONE # & TO GIVE MY SOCIAL. i STARTED TO GIVE IT & MY HUSBAND YELLED IT MIGHT BE A SCAM (ALL MY BILLS ARE CURRENTLY PAID). I TOLD HER I WASN'T GIVING ANYMORE INFO AND SHE TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T HELP ME & HUNG UP ON ME. VERY RUDE JAMAICAN. MY HUSBAND CALLED BACK AND THEY WOULDN'T TELL HIM WHAT THIS WAS FOR UNLESS HE GAVE MY SOCIAL # BUT ASKED IF I STILL LIVED AT SOME ADDRESS WE NEVER LIVED AT.   I'M A LITTLE NERVOUS I WAS FOUR DIGITS AWAY FROM COMPLETING MY SS#.  IF THIS IS A SCAM WHO WOULD U REPORT IT TO?

I got a call at work with this phone # (1-888-896-7262).  But, when I tried to call "Ms. Black" back I received a "not in service" recording.

I filed a police report in Pennsylvania. Best thing to do is to just ignore it. Eventually they give up. They called my house several times after a couple times of saying that "I" don't live there they stopped calling. Now the Jamaican psychics are harassing someone else.

I am extremely frustrated with the agency that calls themselves TYMPANA.
I sent them a certified letter telling them to stop calling me.
So  far they have refused to accept the letter from the post office.  From the trace on the letter sent via the US mail it says they have not picked up the letter--that was weeks ago.

I also contacted the Virginia local Better Business Bureau.

I am NOT the person they are looking for--yet, when I tell them that on the phone they do not accept that
and continue to phone, over and over, rudely.

TYMPANA has the most rude and ignorant telephone employees.  

What can I do now that they refuse to even accept the letter I sent to them?  How can I stop these idiots from phoning?

I googled this number because the call I got was a little suspect. Jennifer from "Tympana" called and asked to verify my information. Name, address, and of course, SS#. I asked what it was about and they said they were a financial institution, and collecting a debt owed to AT&T. I told her I didn't have an account with AT&T and I wasn't verifying anything. She became very rude and started to yell at me, said she was going to keep calling. I told not to bother I would call back tomorrow with my lawyer and to send anything to him in writing. She yelled some more and then hung up.

I hope this helps anyone who googled this page like I did.

And "been there", if you don't believe it give a call to this number, I'm sure that you owe something as well that can only be verified by providing personal information.

Sorry Tony but the number is real.  They are trying to comply with the USA privacy laws and NOT reveal that you (or someone with the same name) owes a debt.  I suppose that you gave no information did you? Cleared everything right up.  If they ALREADY called you then just give the ph# and if the call wasn't intended for you then they can take it out of their data.  If you don't assist in getting this resolved then you'll get calls for 3-4 months.  And the agrivation that comes with it!

Yep you gessed it!,,  this number is a fraud!  I called it, and you get an operator, and right away they want your phone number,  when yo urefuse to give it, they give you the run around!  

Totally bogus!...    all they are allowed to say is "can I have your telephone number so I can track the complaint"  and when asked who are they all they can say is "we are a financial institute"
