Yesterday I googled "Time Warner Cable" because I was thinking about changing internet/cable providers. I have low vision and I thought I clicked on the local office of Time Warner however I actually clicked on another site which had the name tome warner in their web address. A woman with an East Indian accent answered the phone and proceeded to take my information including my name, address, credit card number, social security number and date of birth. This woman was very good and had the entire Time Warner presentation down pat. I did not sign up immediately but rather I asked her to call me later in the day so that I could find out the procedure of ending my existing cable service. Later that day the woman, who called herself EVA, called me from 888-897-5129. I made arrangements with her to transfer my cable service. At the end of our conversation she gave me a installation date and a confirmation number. For some reason I became suspicious of the spokesperson. She gave me a number to call for additional info and I called to check and the number was a telemarketing (?) firm. After the call I found the real Time Warner Company and spoke to a customer service operator. I became convinced that I was scammed. The person was supposed to send me a confirmation email that I never received. A internet check on the number she called from confirmed that this was a scam. Numerous complaints were found on 800notes.com and whocallsme.com and other sites. I had to lock my credit, change my credit card number, and make adjustments to my bank accounts. It should be illegal to include a copyrighted or registered company name in a web address. This was nothing but a scam

I have low vision and I googled Time Warner and called this number clicking on the wrong link. I gave them credit card and SSN info. Fortunately the woman I was talking to said something suspicious at the end of the call. I called twc and verified that they are a scam. I contacted credit card company and locked my credit
Plan to report them to the FBI Internet Crime Unit.

Cox told me I won a gift card and transferred me to this number. Talked to a man who hardly spoke English and said I must give him my credit card number to receive the "reward". I became suspicious and said I don't have it on me. He then told me to get either a friends card info or family. Sounded like a scam

I got a call back after calling what I thought was a Time Warner number. Started asking for social security numbers and credit card numbers.

Got a call back from this number after setting up Cox cable service and they gave me a confirmation number. The whole process was a scam..they're not a cable company

I work for a similar company. Maybe that guy was tired, but I bet he makes more than you. I make close to six figures as a sales rep for a cable/internet company. So.... we're probably making more than you ( a person who has time to post about a 1800 number )

Was on a chat with Verizon Fios trying to find info about their plans on their website. Was told a representative needed to call me back. I advised I prefer email or no calls before 6pm because of work. Less than an hour later my phone starts ringing with this number.
....c'mon...seriously?!!
I agree with the person above, when did it become ok to harass potential customers? That is NOT good business. I will not be going with Verizon or any other company that doesn't know how to treat it's customers (or potential customers) as anything but a number.

I was calling to stop/start Comcast service...this guy says he can help. Wants to sell me a router with a 100% rebate. I gave him my CC and immediately got a call from American Express Fraud Division asking if I authorized this purchase. I said no and the guy called back 4 times while I was on with American Express...then nothing. I'll keep checking online for charges.

14 missed calls from this number in a period of 6 hrs. I got worried thinking something bad had happened. Just then phone starts ringing and it's this number, I answer and a woman with a thick accent tells me she sees my number on her screen and if I'm looking for phone or cable service. I am so upset that telemarketera are allowed to call that many times.

I received 4 calls from this number with in 5 minutes. This is my cell phone and I have limited minutes. There is no caller ID to identify the person or company.

Same thing happened to me. Two Indian guys I could hardly understand tried to offer me a Comcast package with free modem and router (after a 100% rebate). I was asked for my SSN and credit card number. I became suspicious and hugh up. The guy kept calling me back until I yelled at him not to call again. Then I called a different Comcast number and they assured me that all this information was wrong. Sounds like a scam to me.

I also requested information from Comcast, so I'm guessing this was the callback. They left no message so I can't be sure who called me.

Verizon FIOS is doing the same thing. Funny though. My phone never rang but a voicemail with no message was left immediately after I called their 866-230-4414 number to see what kind of deal I could get for their service in my area.
American guy sounding half asleep answered the phone and asked for my name and "phone number in case we get disconnected." Didn't want to deal with his minimum wage half asleep talking so I hung up and this happened.
So sad people have nothing better to do.
What happened to quality customer service.
Guess I will have to write another letter to a Corporate CEO because they are the only ones that can actually do something about it. Maybe you guys should do the same.
Good Luck

Sav-ology is a legit company. They are a 3rd party reseller for most home service providers. http://www.saveology.com/ is their website. If you have alot of harrassment I would recommend fidning out who to contact with the company they are representing and complain.

I recieve multiple daily calls from 360-529-6163 trying to sell me an alarm system. I finally got from the machine to a representative and told him to take me off the call list and gave them a fake name so I know if they call again. Not even an hour later I got a call from this 888 number asking for the fake name I gave them. It was ADT trying to sell another alarm system. I will never buy their alarm system no matter how great the deal is beacuse of their annoying call tactics and lies.

Called my number 2:45am. I have my VoIP system configured in night mode - eg. not ring my phones at night, so I didn't get a wake-up call. It actually was a toll free number it was answered by the system with an anti-telemarketing recording.

its ADT, i just got a call from them too... they have partnered up with Cox Communications and trying to sell home alarm systems....

It was 1:30am and I was browsing internet providers online, came across a Comcast deal so I called Comcast. The person who answered the phone was Indian and I could not understand him so I hung up. Within seconds my phone rang twice in a row- I did not answer it either time but am 99.999% certain it is related to the Comcast # I just called: (877) 417-0922

I got 2 calls in a row from this number....Time Warner may very well have something to do with it. I contacted them via internet to find out how much internet would be thru them....then he said they needed to call me, what is my phone number....they really DIDN'T need to talk to me...the price & info didn't change...all it was, was some guy from India or wherever trying to do the high-pressure, fast-talk sale. I kept telling the jerk-wad that I'm not the one who's going to decide whether or not their service will be used. He said he'll call tomorrow & I said NO--I won't know, because it's not up to me. Then he said he'll call next week & I yelled NO don't call me or this number. Then he says "well when should I call????" Maybe that Savology is a scam....that Indian is gathering phone numbers & moonlighting. I don't know but he was a real Pain in the A. Too bad we can't all call him at all hours...
