Call came from Kansas to Kansas at 18:56 hours-J  on 6-27-2014. Call not answered and no message left. When I saw that one of the posts on this site referenced this cancer rip off  was number 10 on the list of the 50 top worst charities in America, I called the return number on a untraceable phone line. It was answered with a voice mail which identified the organization as the Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation. Searching the below link, I saw that it had slipped.... it was now the 11th worst charity in America. Bottom line: nuke it.

I DID NOT ANSWER....PROBABLY A SCAM OF ONE NATURE OR ANOTHER

Very bad service.  Girl got ticked off since she was with the children foundation  what she said.............whatever! Called the number back of coarse it was busy .........probably making more sales with people donating their money..........I'm NOT!!!  These people need to get a life and WORK! I explained I'm on the no call list and that did not make a difference and she wanted the last word.  Too Bad so SAD I do not donate outside the community!  

Telemarketer for breast cancer research. When I said no, the girl kept reading her script. I said no at least 4 more times and finally hung up on her.

another call from 'children's cancer'.  Of course these slim ball telemarketers have hardened us all into trusting anyone and anyone with a lick of sense does not pickup the call.  That's why I only give locally to a needy family/person in our local paper with a fund set up with a local bank.  I hope they stay on their phone lines from India or whatever rock they were born beneath and not infiltrate our local charities.

Stated they were a childrens cancer donation company and asked if they sent me an envelope would I donate a little money.  When I said "no" she commenced to try to make feel guilty for not helping a child with cancer.  I yelled at her and said "I had a child with cancer"  She slammed the phone down.

These people have called dozens of time over the last several months but I haven't answered until tonight.  Quite an annoying thing and I wish they could be stopped.  It came across my i.d. as just "Kansas Call and the 913 735-8043

Have been getting calls from this number with Children's Cancer on the caller ID. If they really wnat money why don't they ever leave a message.   I never give money to anyone who calls me on the phone.  If they are Legit then they can send something tangible through the mail so it can be studied and I can see if the address is legit or not.  I used to give to those charities until I got cancer 25 years ago and there was no help for me from them not even a visit to the hospital or a phone call.  This number is now blocked and I will turn it in because I do not believe for one minute those people are really working for a legit organization.

Tell them they ARE soliciting your time [to listen to their unwanted bull] and they will stop calling. or pay a 2500.00 fine

When donating to a charity I always google it.  Did that when I got a call from this number, and when I asked what percentage of my money goes to directly to the children we were cut off.  HMMM.  Sounds like they are wanting your money for other than what's they say it is for.  I think she heard me typing on the computer.

I have to add, the REAL number for the Kansas FOP is, according to their site, (816)483-1512.  I called them and left a message about THIS number, and would suggest that others do the same.  If it's not legit, they will want to know, and would be far better able to get real action on this one.

It's VERY interesting that some report this as the Fraternal Order of Police.  I got a call, which we didn't answer.  There was no ID for the number, and no message was left.  When I called back, using *67 to conceal my number, i got a recording stating this was the "Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation", NOT the Fraternal Order of Police.  Sounds like a SCAM to me!  If you want to donate, look the FOP up, and call them yourself.  Even better, if someone tells you that's who they are, report them to the real FOP, because their recorded message states they are someone else.

A caller from this number has called me everyday this workweek.  My caller IS says it's from "Children's Cance." I've notified them that my number is on the National Do Not Call Registry, and not to call me again.  They just called me again at 8:25 p.m.

Caller ID now lists this number as Children's Cancer Center.  They called at 8:18 p.m. local time.  Number was promptly put on selective call rejection list.  This is a group hired to raise money for various causes, guess they've been hired away from FOP.  If I wish to donate to a cause, I do so under my own initiative.

They called my house this morning, when I answered (hello?  hello?  hello!) there was silence then a man said "Oh well then, have a nice day" and hung up.   ????

Telemarketing is expensive.  Even reputable charities, when the call for donation the company making the calls keeps about 70% of every donation.  Charities with "Police" or "Sherrif" in the name are much worse.  They typically keep 90-95% of every donation to cover fundraising expenses.

You are wise to not donate.
