I agree! I'm in Canada as well, and they called me on Canada Day too! Apparently the Do Not Call list is useless...

I received a call from 914-339-9558 on July 1 at 7:27pm.  I do not answer calls I do not know. My message states no message no return call. I wish there was a way to block calls without spending money.

The number was on my call display however no message left!

I just received a call from them. It was someone claiming that they were calling on behalf of The Bay and Sears. They told me that I or someone I know had entered my phone number into some sort of draw and that I had been selected to receive $2,500.00 towards some sort of vacation. I shop at The Bay a lot and don't recall ever entering any kind of draw like this, or even seeing one for that matter. The number that the call came from is 914-339-9558. (My caller ID also listed it as coming from New York, but no further info....but HBC is canadian soooo I dunno why they'd be calling from new york :p)
It was a girl, (sounded between the ages of 20-30,) and she claimed that I had to be 25 or over to participate. It was just strange.
And reading some of your guys' comments, apparently I now can look forward to more calls from them :s oh yay.

BTW, the time stamp is wrong on this site. My posting just went up (5:30pm July 1) and it's labelled as "July 2". I guess it's July 2 somewhere in Europe but I posted b/c I'm pissed that they've been phoning me all week and don't even give me a break on my national holiday!

I just got a call from these people. It was a recorded message mentioning something about someone at The Bay or Sears entering my number for a contest giving away $2,500 towards some kind of vacation. I figured it was a telemarketing thing or some kind of scam so playing along I pressed 1 and the girl said that in order to participate I have to be over 25. I asked her what this was about and if it was legit and she didn't answer my question, she just repeated herself. And when I went to check the call ID, the number said New York (pretty sure HBC is only canada,) ....so that was odd. I also don't recall ever seeing (and definitely never partcipated in,) any kind of draw like this and I shop at the bay a lot. Scam?

They are obviously calling all over North America. Have called me several times - automated crap telling me to select various numbers to get a prize (gee, that's not an old con!). I'm in BC and also on a no-call list. And yeah, they shouldn't be flogging their scam in Canada on Canada Day - crass and rude!

No-call lists are only good in one's own country. So Canadians have no protection against American telemarketers and vice versa. I think they should change this. Or let us register in both countries.

Telephone Vacation Scam!

Automated female message advising we won a $2,500 Vacation for all inclusive vaction in Cancun, Mexico for a family of four!  They mentioned I had entered a local draw and our name was selected.  I assume being located in Toronto, there is no chance they're local draw would reach them.

I was to press 1 to claim or 3 to decline.  Choosing any of the options will get them to call more often.

Just had this call for the first time.  I never pick up if I don't recognise the number, but from what Lee says above, I guess I can expect to get calls every day now.  I'm on the Canadian Do Not Call list, but it has no power over the junk that comes from the States - and there surely is a lot of that.

Just got a call from this number. I'm in Canada and it's Canada day today these people should not be allowed to call me today.

Keep receiving calls from this number.  I let it go to voicemail because it's not a number I'm familiar with.  VERY annoying!

I did not bother to answer a call from this number, but want thank you all who are reporting them to the appropriate authorities.  Hopefully it will result in a day when we never have to be disrupted by these time wasting calls.

I got a call from 914-339-9558 on my cell phone about a half hour ago. I investigated the call by returning it. It belongs to a company calling itself WCA Subscriber Services. An automated recording  congratulated me on being a preferred subscriber and offered me a variety of "rewards" including two $25 Walmart Gift Cards. After listening to this nonsense, I hung up and then called again. This time the recorded voice thanked me for being a "special offer service subscriber" and proceeded to offer me a whole other slew of "rewards".

The recording said that my number had been entered into the subscriber database on 5/24/11 and that I would continue to receive daily calls for rewards.

I listened to all the options and then pressed #5, which is a "request for cancellation" - I then had to listen to 3 minutes of recorded message of why I should NOT cancel before I was able to press another number to confirm cancellation.

ONCE I did this, I got a message that my "request for cancellation will take up to 7 business days to process."

This is harassment. I never subscribed to this service and am on the national do not call list.

I will be filing a report with the national DO NOT CALL program at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2  AND making a complaint to my state's attorney general as well.

Got a call from this number. It's a telemarketer SOS Travel Promotions. Will be reporting to MO Atty Gen office.

I got a call from this number too. And have gotten random calls from different states as well. Its weird would live to know who it is

it's a recording...about a trip...to opt out hit 3...i did and hope it didn't cause any of my info or my bill to be intercepted

They called and did not leave a message.

this number called day and night, I've blocked it..I've checked who they are -  it's a Wal-Mart gift card scam asking your credit card info, but has has nothing to do with Wal-Mart, just scammers.. Be aware!
