These people keep calling my cell phone and now my work number harassing me claiming that I can be arrested. And I can lose my job.

Definitely a scam. Too much personal info left in voicemail. Threats made of legal action taking place if I dont respond or reply. Caller id shows Sacramento, CA which is a BIG RED FLAG........government offices dont call you. You call them and are lucky to get through. Report this number and all info asap to put a stop to the calls.

I just listened to a voicemail that I received a call while driving at 6:57am. The person that left me a message has a very heavy Indian accent, speaking really slow but managed to give me an American name. Are you serious? Then to top it off, the person claims he's calling from the State Attorney's office. OK. B--- S---! C'mon, government hours DO NOT start until 8am and lucky if you even get a call from them that early. This person must have forgotten the time difference. Scary part is my SSN is so exposed out there.

They called me this morning, when I said I had no debt in which they speak of I hung up on them and they called me back 8 times until I answered again and told them to stopped calling, man with heavy accent then said I was going to be arrested and that a crime had been committed under my name and SSN. I told him IDGAF and he kept yelling at me, I got so angry I told him off and hung up. he then called me 10 more times, since 8:00 am this morning I haven't had anymore calls. ignore them, if you answer don't say you are the person they are looking for. they need to be stopped!!  

These Indian extortionists have a nasty habit of picking on single women and mothers who might have taken out payday type loans from fly-by-night operators.   They think that single women or mothers are easier to extort from.  Next time they call tell them to go to hell!

Also tell 'em that they have been reported to the  US national security agency (NSA) and that their call-center has been located and placed on a target list.

Call blocker might be your best bet.

Most of these people are extortionists operating out of India and Pakistan.

A man with a very heavy indian accent called and told me there is a lawsuit being filed against me regarding my SSN. Gave me another # to call. So i did. (Another man with a heavy accent claiming to be a lwyer informed me that i was being charged with check fraud and theft by deception. Gave me a bogus case # ( i looked it up on supreme court website) and said if i dont pay then the cops are coming to my house now to take me for 9 months in federal prison. This had me in tears. Im only 23 and pride myself in never doing anything illegal. So im very glad i found this website informing me its a scam. I guess im still pretty gullible :/

Just got the same phone call... they called my job so i was really nervous, had to get my attorney on the phone...once he cursed at the guy and the guy cyrsed back and hung up, i knew for sure it was a scam... thinking back, it to be those online loans i applied for.. smh! Hard times call for desperate measures but never again!!  The guy read out my ssn which was really alarming.. I'm definitely going to get a credit alert!!!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I just recently got a loan and now I'm getting phone calls from this 619 number stating that they are with the State Attorney's Office I'm wondering what kind of scam this is and how to put a stop to it. their saying thay my social security number is in jeopardy and that I need to have my lawyer call them so if anyone has any more information in regards to this phone number please let me know thank you

I got a call and a man with a strong middle eastern accent also said he was from attorney generals office he has called more than 5 times leaving harassing messages this is a scam don't answer there calls they are rude and will curse at you if you question them.

This is definitely a scam... it is an arab sounding person stating they are calling from the State Attorney General's office.....and there is some issues around my soc. sec. number....etc, etc,....I called the state attorney general's office, they said if they or any other governmental agency had a legitimate issue with you, you would get something in the maile before they would every call you...I have recently filled out some online loan apps and then this started...go figure, DO NOT TRUST ONLINE LENDERS or LOAN Brokers, they totally sell your information to Crooks like this!!

This is the third instance in as many months of them calling my work multiple times a day.

They called me non stop yesterday and I avoided the calls, having been bothered by telemarketers before (I assumed they were telemarketers). THEN the b@stards called my job and told the HR manager that there is a lawsuit on my SS#!!!!  How the hell did he get my SS# and my work num?
Anyway, I called them back and they all have HEAVY accents and claim to be senior attorneys at the Cali Attorney Gen Office...which I did not believe for one second. I am not discriminating but come on, why would a senior attorney general at the Cali Attorney Gen Office be unable to speak proper English? This immediately threw my radar up for a scam. THEN he insisted I verify personal info and when I refused he said he was sending the sheriff to arrest me at work, lol.
Everything they said, from the moment they took my call was HIGHLY suspicious.

These ppl are harassing me ...they keep calling my cell phone and just recently my work number...No business would leave a message saying you:re in legal trouble...that is personal information ...no place would ask or tell your that your social security # is jeopardy...I called these ppl back and they had different ppl answer and hang up once I told them off...These ppl are trying to harass and scam you...and it isn't right when they call your work saying your in legal trouble...that could get me FIRED wth!

I was told it is the states attorney office and it sounds like an Arab he said that my ss# has been used for something and to have my attorney call the last call he mad he read off my ss# on the voice message

These people have harassed me before. Does anyone have any ideas how to stop them?
