2 calls claiming to be credit card companies

929 200 9100 call every day at my home phone. What are all the police works for? To stop perpetrators who disturb public privacy or just getting salary ?

I have received calls fron this number many times and its always about lower interest rates on my credit card. When I ask for their name, location, name of company etc they are always vague. I have also threatened to complain to CRTC and said that my number=er is on the no-call list. They laugh, get hostile, or say that they comply with the rules that they are supporting an existing service. I have made about 20 complaints to CRTC and written to the Minister responsible for the CRTC asking why the CRTC is not doing anything. I have never received a response from the CRTC, or from the MInister's Office.
The CRTC are political appointees so I guess if we are to avoid being woken up by unwanted calls, especially if you are a shift worker we will have to change the Government to get anything done.

929 is not an area code. The number is being spoofed. Presumably they are calling out of the US to avoid Canada's do not call rules. This is simply an attempted scam. Don't answer, don't talk.

I have picked up to interrupt the message, to avoid the thing using up my answering machine space, and never got anything but silence and then dial tone. Others reporting similar numbers here have talked to a live person, it seems.

Claims to be my credit card company. Saying that they have tried to call me many times and this is the last call - offering lower rates...jerks
