I worked at telecom for quite a while. First it was U.S. Telecom then changed to Consumer Telecom.
The script is that they are calling "low usage lines", to lower the service charges on you phone bill. It's
complete nonsense. Most people don't use alot of long distance. There is no reduction in your service fees.
The funniest thing I have read is that you think your local distance company is innocent in all this. Where
do you all think telecom get your information? How do you think they can bill on your local carriers bill.
The big phone companies sell you!! They hate telecom but take the millions of dollars it costs for there
customers information and to allow telecom to bill on there statement. Telecom is a scam. They usually
raise your bill not lower it. However the biggest crooks are running your local phone company. By the way
telecom paid very well.

i just got a call forem a different number, however, it was the same exact wording as described above. (stating i was a low usage customer) and as soon as i asked what company he was from, he hung up. i *69, got the number and called back, and was told the company name was "Consumer Telcom".

I just got a phone from this man  .  telling me that i had lower user on my phone long distonce call,
he want to save me money , he asked for name and address i ask him what would  he    do with infomation  he hung up     no was7022606126

This man called and said he was from Consumer Telcom. Said my phone was a low usage line and would lower phone bill by $10. His speal confused me and I thought it was affiliated with Qwest. But it's not. It's a scam speal to confuse the customer into accepting as I did. I asked him what the rate per minute would be and he said, "Oh don't worry about that." He didn't answer me. I looked online and found their 800 number and canceled 20 minutes after I talked to him. The lady assured me that they would cancel me. I told her I wouldn't pay their bill if I saw it on my phone bill and she said that it won't show because she canceled it for me. People be careful. Their tactics for getting customers is deceptive.

I just received a call from this number stating that my phone bill had automatically been lowered by $7.00 because it had been identified as a "low usage" long distance number.  She pretended she was reading to me off my own phone bill ("see on page 2 where it says...") What she didn't know was that I don't have long distance on this line, I just use my cell phone for that!  She said she would transfer me to someone and all I had to do was verify who I was and that this was my number, and my savings would go into effect.  When I told her I had no long distance service, she hung up on me.

The good news is, I called the number  back, and got a customer service rep who told me that this was way out of line, that their telemarketers are not allowed to pretend they have access to my phone records, and not allowed to pretend I am just "verifying."  She said they were in fact trying to sell me a long distance plan, and that they had not signed me up for anything (she checked to verify I had no account with them.)  She also said she was required to report my call to her supervisor, that they would find out who called me, monitor their calls, and discipline them.  So...a mixed report.

Just received a call from this so-called company - since I had caller ID I knew it was some kind of solicitors but I always mess around with those types so I picked up and responded in a "just woke up" voice..person on the other line tells me he's so and so and am I the person to talk to about a charge on my long distance phone bill. I respond "who..is..this.." Person on the other line says: "I already told you who I was, good day" CLICK...

I received the same call offering to lower my phone bill based on low long-distance usage - male caller wanted to verify my phone service provider, whether the line was residential and whether I was in charge of the phone bill.

Keep getting calls from this number, then silence, then disconnects.

The southern accent lady (CALLER ID said CALIFORNIA) talked so fast I didn't have time to explain I didn't want to switch companies, since I didn't trust the whole idea.

I tried to type in my comment and before I finished it to send it, it disappeared. I had the same bad experienced I read in the other comments.

Same as all the other comments posted. These annoying people keep calling and when I answer they say they are calling about my long distance bill. As soon as I ask who they are they hang up. I dont understand what the point of these calls are. I really think it is some sort of scam and they are looking to get info of my phone line.

Received a call from this number. The person said she was an operator
and noted that my phone line is a low long distance usage line. I advised her i don't have long distance on the number she gave me so she hung up.

I got a call from this number today and was told by a woman that everyone in the state of NC was being called to let them know that next month their phone bill would be lower. I said "okay". The woman then said "ok?? I've called over 200 people today and and they all said praise the lord". I then said "okay" again and the woman made a some hateful remark I couldn't make out and hung up on me. Why is the company still in business. She made it sound like she was with the government.

Calls my work phone 2-3 times daily, I send it straight to VM.  So annoying!

I got "ANOTHER" call from Ca. I stayed on the line to see who came on. I told them. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER.
So, I called the number back. They are providing long distant phone coverage. But!!! You need to call the 800 number they list.
People calling calling us, and bothering us. IF we WANT your service we will call you. "Harrasmnet" Now, stop!!!

They call several times a day. California on caller ID. I called it from my cell phone. They hang up always!!! They say that they are a long distant calling service. And, to call a 800 number for customer service.

Please find out who this is. And, get them to please stop. I have even had calls from a Trac Phones.

A man called and said an expensive call was made on this line, am I in charge of the telephone number?  When i started asking him questions he hung up.  Googling the number gave me this website.

I called this number back. It said if u want to be removed from the call list. Put in your number. I did not! And, did not answer the call.

Just received a call from this number.  When advised this was a business line, the caller hung up.  This is RUDE and very unprofessional.  As there is already several messages being sent to this company, this one will probably fall on deaf ears also.

i WOULD BE VERY WEARY OF THIS CALL. This is a pshishing call to solicit your information possibly for I.D. theft. DO NOT attempt to cal lthem back and give them your "account" information as there is no existing account. They want you to "verify" information they do not even have so they can steal it from you to use for other ill purposes. Report this call to your authorities and probably the FCC. Do NOT give them or even verify your info.

Got a call from the same number saying she was calling regarding a long distance charge on our phone bill. This is a business and the call came in on one of our "off" lines. She asked if I was the person in charge of the phone bill. I hesitated as there are several of us it could pertain to and was rudely informed.."it's a yes or no question...are you in charge of the phone bill?"......so I said no and she hung up. Irritating and rude.

I just received a call from this number about my long distance phone bill.  A man asked to speak to the person of the house.  I told them this was a business and they hung up on me.  I called back and was kept on hold. The automatic voice system just kept saying, "thanks for calling customer care and one of our representative will be with you" , no name of the company or anything...real fishy!

Received a phone call - they told me that they were calling about a charge on my long distance .  
I told her I didn't have long distance - and she hung up on me.

This made me angry because she flat out lied to me.

i am a customer who had call me and actually lie to me about what they have to offer they tell unlimited for my low usage of calls for 2.95 so i called the company back and she tells me it is for a 30 minutes for free and 5 cents after that would not tell me how they got all my information about me

I just received a call from this number.  A woman identified herself as being with a phone company investigating a charge. She asked "Are you responsible for paying the bill for this home phone?".  I answered it was not a home phone but a business phone and she hung up.

I called the number and reached an operator. The company is "Consumer Telecom". I explained the situation that they hung up on me and she apologized saying "They were trying to offer you long distance service.  

Next time I will hang up.

THIS # 19496605685 CALLED AND SAID HE WAS GOING TO CHARGE ALL COLLECT CALLS TO ME I NOW JUST CALLED THE FBI AND THEY ARE GOING TO LOOK INTO TO THESE CHARGES.

I received a phone call from this number, but surprising the caller kept on saying, "Hello...hello?"
