Calls come in several times a week from telemarketer. I'm on the DO NOT CALL list! Phone number on phone shows as a local area code, but call is actually from  (949) 861-5939 .

They wants to give away a trip, just pay for your airline ticket to Cailfornia plus a bunch of other things and the trip is yours at no cost, Ya right........

Got a call from the guy 5 min ago, the guy said that I won 5 million dollars and will send the cash to my house, I told him that I don't have a house, I have a codo, then he hang up.

Just called, didn't answer. Am in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

I apparently purchased something and won nights stay at Cancun.  HA! Tried calling the number back to get off the calling list and the number is not in service.

I totally agree!! I have Rogers as well and didn't even think of this as being related to them...makes total sense. grrrrr

I received a call from this number on Thursday Aug. 18th around noon.  I was not home...but after reading the above, it looks like yet another automated telemarketing firm... "giving away" bogus trips!

Got a call from this number today. Wasn't home. Didn't leave a VM. I find it odd that I never, ever received calls like this until I switched to Rogers. Now I get them daily, no exaggeration. Every night after work I have a new number on my CID. When I Google the number it always brings me to one of these forums. The calls I receive are echoed by other posters in these forums. It doesn't really bother me that much. What does bothers me is the Rogers thing.

I know the reason I receive these calls is because I have Rogers, which uses VoIP and the calls we  recevie are  all VoIP in origin. In addition to this, Rogers uses re-cycled phone numbers and gives them to cutomers like you and me. Even though I read the forums everynight, because I'm checking the numbers associated with the strage areas codes from my CID, I have never posted before. The main reason I am posting is because Rogers advertises their crappy service IN these forums. Totally inapproriate. The only way to stop this BS is to complain often and loudly to the telephone service providers, otherwise they will never do anthing about it and we will contunue to receive more and more calls like this.

I got a call tonight. I'm in NS, Canada. I didn't answer it.

We were warned of a 2500$ per minute phone scam from the 949 by E Mail a few weeks ago...so watch out and ignore all 949's!!!

been calling me alot, but i work out of town from my home so i never get to answer it in real time
but today got home early and finally got to answer oit and then nothing but dead air and i mean dead not even any background noise just like the phone was muted
i havent purchased anything that requiered my number, so how did i get on this calling harassment list i sure wonde3r because im so carefull of what information i give out
so i hope whoever is giving these a***s the pjhone numbers is making the best of it because i do have some money and if its cvlose enough im the type of person to go to that door where a***s like this like to play and maybee we can play the five finger death punch with me
i can only hope and dream that these a***s would be pesented to me

I just got called from them, saying I won a trip from a recent purchase.....b***s***

also got a call at 1220 pm today....made a purchase won a trip somewhere, but was a recorded message only...they must be hitting northern canada...

Phoned would not leave a name or a message on answering machine.

I have won a 6 days in Cancun and in Florida ,I just hung up.

I have received several calls from this number.  Today, I had some time to waste so I answered it and was told that due to a recent puchase I had one a trip to cancun. It did give me a choice on the number to press: it was press 1 to receive my gift or press 1 to receive my gift ... so I pressed one.  Then an accented voice asked if I was over 25.  Instead of answering I asked what purchase had qualified me and I discovered that I was speaking to a computer generated voice using voice recognition and it didn't understand me.

This could almost be funny if it wasn't so annoying!

got the call, won a trip to Orlando or something. Only connection I can think of is I gave my phone number on priceline.com recently.

I apperently did a purchase and won a 6 night stay in Orlando.....LMAO I never bought anything but a 4 litre milk....hahahahaha When i asked him (which I could not understand a word he was saying) what i had bought to qualify for the trip...he hung up on me...

I have hung-up on this number before and they still call - wait a few months but they still call.

Got a call a 4:35 p.m. tody August 18, 2011....I hung up before they could say anything and them at 5:00 p.m. got a call from 1-603-214-3694...and didnot pick up ....probably the same scam....the free Cancun vacation thru some scam....these people need to get a real job....and feel good about themselves....just crap a....holes....

Received a call today, & if you call it back there is no dial tone, or anything on line.
Wonder who is phoning me.
