I have cancer and live off of Social Security Disability. I was contacted by someone from this number on November 16, 2011 @ 2:25pm telling me that I was awarded a medical grant. I told him that I was contacted by someone on November 8th claiming the same thing. I don't have credit cards or a car payment and every penny goes to just trying to pay the basics in life. I lost my mother to cancer two years ago. I made the mistake of trying to get a loan online to help pay my bills. That was when I started getting these calls about being awarded a medical grant. I fell for it when they first called me on Nov 8th and I wasn't going to fall for it again. I originally tried to get a loan from Montel William's company Money Mutual. All of my bank accounts were completely wiped out and even overdrawn. My rent and all my utilities bounced. I am facing eviction because of this. The guy claimed my information was sent to them by Montel Williams himself. I asked for his company's information and I would call them back if I could verify their story. He told me they didn't want any of my bank information. He promised they were truly there to help people like me. He claimed his name was Phillip Brandon and had an accent. When I asked where they were located he told me Glendale California. When I asked where he was from he told me Australia and he came to California to go to college. Then when he graduated he loved America so much he decided to stay. Phillip then told me he got a job with Montel Williams because he believed in what Mr. Williams was trying to do. Help the ones who couldn't get help from anyone else. I have to drive an hour each way twice a week for treatments and had $115 cash to cover my gas and food for my dog. It was all I had left after the grant scam. He told me to verify his information and he would call me the next day. He continued to call me for three days. I had tried to get a loan to save myself from eviction and because I was getting such a little amount from Social Security I didn't qualify. Against my better jusdgement I believed this Phillip Brandon. I figured if it was a fraud then the phone number wouldn't be connected after a few days. On the third day Phillip called me like clockwork. He even arranged a three way conference all with a loan proccessor named Peter Saunders. He also had an accent and when I asked where he was from I was told Malaysia. I am ashamed to say I fell for it. Since they didn't want my bank account information I didn't think I had anything to lose. Phillip told me that they needed to verify who I was. Their company was not going to give someone a $2500 loan if they could not confirm their identity. Phillip told me there were two options in doing so. One was setting up direct deposit because banks verify your identity when you open an account or sending $100 through Western Union. In order to send the money Western Union has to veryify your identity. Phillip would stay on the phone with me the entire time and as soon as the money came through Montel William's Money Mutual would send me a loan for $2500. I am so ashamed to admit this but I fell for it. I had heard about the scams people in India were pulling because of all the jobs our companies outsourced to them. Since they didn't want my bank information and Phillip was from Australia not India I fell for it. Hook, Line and sinker. I have always been too trusting and try to find the good in people. I guess I was the perfect target for them. As soon as I sent the last of my money because I thought it was coming right back Phillip transferred me to Peter Saunders the loan processor. Then Peter said I had to pay the taxes on the loan. I broke down in tears because I didn't even have enough gas in my car to get home. He told me that the only thing preventing me from getting the money was paying the taxes. He even told me to over draw my bank account for 5 mins. He promised that if I did that he would make sure I got the money. I told him my account was overdrawn from the fake grant. I hung up. I felt so hopeless and didn't even have a way to get home. Thank goodness there are still good people in the world because a lady in the store who overheard this put gas in my tank for me so I could get home. Peter called me the next day saying that he was going to pay the taxes for me so I could get the money. Then he asked if I was happy. I told him I wasn't sure because I didn't believe them. He told me he was following through with his promise. Then he asked again if I was happy. I told him I was. Then he wanted me to prove it. When I asked what he meant he told me that if I wanted my money I had to have phone sex with him. I was so disgusted I actually threw up. I told him he was the worst kind of human that existed and to never call me again. He has continued to call me at least 11 times a day. He even called me from a restricted number one day. My grandparent's phone number is restricted so I answered the phone. Peter told me if I said anything to anyone about what he wanted me to do, he would kill me. Peter Saunders claims to know exactly where I lived and even gave a detailed description of my dog. I am scared to even answer my front door or take my dog outside to go to the bathroom. I tried calling his boss and tell him what happened, I asked if they recorded their calls and told him everything. His boss Richard Johnston promised Peter Saunders would be fired. For two days the calls stopped. On the third day I got a call from 970-123-6459. When I answered it was Peter Saunders again. He started laughing and said it wasn't that easy to get rid of him. He said that I needed to watch out because he is going to kill me. He warned me not to say anything and I tried to get him in trouble. I have to admit that I am even scared to post this. At this point I have nothing to lose. I will be losing the roof over my head and don't know if I have the strength to fight my cancer any more. I hope my story will prevent someone else from becoming a victim. I did call my local police department but they said there was nothing they could do because these people are in India. As soon as I found out they were in India I recognized their accents. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!! It is scary that people like this exist in the world and they are giving India a bad name. I also cant believe there aren't people who can help us. Why can't anyone do anything about this? Why won't news anchors make this a top priority to warn us about? People like me who don't have any family and are fighting for our own lives don't deserve this. I pray someone can stop this and soon. Don't be a fool and fall for this.

I just want them to stop calling me

I received 5 calls from this number, the (Idiot)!!!!!, caller, wanted to speak to a person that doesn't  live at this number. told his (Dum---)!! that,he said he would be calling about 16 more times, talked with a Eastern India Accent, took several minutes just trying to understand what the hell, he said!!!!!

I received a call from this number and it was a gentlemen with a very heavy accent also.  He got mad at me after I wouldnt give him my info and called me a f **** bi***.  He as been calling me back every other day saying some very nasty things to me.  He even blocks the number and then calls me.

Recieved a call from this number 15 times a day. i finally answered it and they asked if i was a prostitute.

This number called me repeatedly called me and the last time they called tonight and was saying some pretty vial things this pervert kept asking if he could put his d*** in my a** or if i wanted to suck his d*** and i tried to disconnect from the call but my phone would not hang up i finally had to pull the battery from my phone

They have all my personal info... I believe theyre identity theives who intercepted informjation from me online while applying for online payday loans....

I got the call and played around with him for awhile. Finally I told him that he would probably earn more money by pimping his sister out on some Kinchasa street corner. I doubt he will call back. :D

Called 8 times today and hung up when I answered.  I tried to call back and got a recording that I had to enter an area code when dialing.  I have a feeling the number being displayed is not the same number being called from.  Definitely something fishy.  I have blocked the number.

Called my neighbor saying she was being given $7000 and they needed her debit card number and for her to call 202-621-0214 and speak with Mark Robinson.  Once getting this mark guy on the phone he proceeds to tell her that he needs her to send $99 in order to get the $7000.  So we asked, why can't you deduct it from the $7000.  The man proceeded to get angry and hang up

Same thing happened to me like anonymouain's friend,  he asked for my dob, I told him since. He was calling from us government that was something he should know, they had my name, address and phone number, that info is public, everyone has access to it... but he said I was married and I'm single, also he said I pay on time my taxes, and that is not true, so those were the details that made me realized this is a scam, we should all call Mr Marc @ 202-204-0479 from a unknown number to bother him the way they do it to others, ill call him today at least 10 times...lol

I have actually reported these unwanted scammer calls to the FBI.  I was told that when they shut down their operations, the crooks just open up again 2 doors down.  What a waste of  agency's time when there are so many more important issues that need to be addressed.  I just don't answer.  These people obviously prey on our citizen's who have jobs / and taking care of families.

This phone number showed up on my caller id on my direct line at work.  They asked for a person they couldn't clearly pronounce in a very thick middle eastern accent and I asked "Who?" and then they gave me a different name.  When I said there was no one by that name here, they said "So, there is no one by the name of <yet again another name>?".  I asked who was calling and they danced around the question several times.  I proceeded to tell them to take my name off their list, as I told them I have traced their location and would report to the local authorities.  They hung up.

I have received 2 calls from this number today so far.  Both times it rings then I answer and they hang up.  So I decided to look it up on the internet.  Thanks for the info people!

Got my call from this # today...is anyone safe from these ***holes? Don't we send enough of our hard earned tax dollars to their damned countries?

BTW: Reporting these scams to our officials is useless as they don't have the resources to hunt these fools down and prosecute.

I live in New Zealand and keep getting calls from this number.  It's an American number so somehow they got access to this number.  The only Americans (besides friends and family) that have access to this number are the bill collectors.  

I will not answer the phone but they've attempted to call me 5 times today and it's only 2pm.

This number calls me 8 to 9 times a day and when my husband Finally answered He started asking where we lived and was giving us street names that were actually very close. I was scared he was trying to get our information. When my husband started to get upset he became very rude. I called my phone carrier and got the number blocked.

Received a cell phone call from Ricky Lawson at 9701236459 stating he was call to notify me that I was granted a $5000 U S Government grant. He asked that I verify the information he had and I asked that he tell me what he had.  He had my name address and cell phone number and the last four of my SSN.  I was given a grant approver # of 0369 and told to call back at 2026843389 and ask for Jason Hardy the Department Manager.  I called the number and spoke to the number just to verify where they were calling from.  When I asked for their location, he hesitated as if searching for the right answer.  He finally said Washington DC and that would call back in 15 minutes to verify delivery fo my money.
My concern these people now have cell phone numbers and personal information.  At this point no economic effect has resulted, but how long will it take if they have all my personal information.  These representatives all speak with foreign accents, which cannot be a concern since all support is contracted to foreign call centers.  How can citizens protect themselves when our personal information is so available to criminals?

Got 3 calls February 10 from this number and all hung up before I could answer.  February 18 got a call from 459-148-1923 from a heavily-accented woman claiming to be calling about a US grant.  Told her I didn't believe it and hung up. Best to contact attorney general's office.

I just got a call from this number on my cell phone, but no answer on the other end. I think I can find a way to block it if they keep calling. This costs me airtime.

These people have been calling and calling and most of the time, nobody is there.  Today I finally talked to someone who said what sounded like American Claim services.  I told them not to call again - I think it is a scam about a grant - they want you to advance them money to receive.....

Keep getting calls daily from 970-123-6459. No answer. Who are they and how can I stop this?

They called me and told. Me to call 202-621-0214.  Gave me grant approval #v019j.  I asked him some questions to see how tight their story was. His address ia 200 independance ave DC health and human services bldg.  Meanwhile I called the 202 # on my cell.  I told him that there was no answer.  He asked me to repeat it to him.  I refused and asked him to repeat it to me.  He got mad.  He claimed his name was paul thompson......not with that heavy arabic accent.....omg.  then I got a call back from 202-621-0293 and it was a brittish guy telling me he has missed a call and asked who I was.  We went tit for tat asking each others identity.....then he hung up.  These guys need a bullet in the head!!!

Got a call from someone with an Middle Eastern Accent saying I have been selected to receive a $6000. grant for paying my taxes. This is not a real deal.

They try to offer you grant money....ridiculous!  They tell you to go to Western Union and bring a deposit and you will get the money back.  I kept asking if it were from the federal govt then why wasn't there more information such as a website available.  They said if you don't accept then you would lose the grant.  I said oh well... I guess I decline then.

Received two calls from this number. When I called back, a I got a recorded message that the number I have dialed is invalid.
