The DoNotCall Registry works on voluntary compliance like speed limit signs on highways. Honest telemarketers honor the Registry, abusive telemarketers and scammers do not.

THIS MAY BE A SCAM. As of 10/27/2010, it is *ILLEGAL* for companies to charge up front fees for help on unsecured debt like credit card debt http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2010/07/tsr.shtm that states "fees for debt relief services may not be collected until ... the debt relief service successfully renegotiates, settles, reduces, or otherwise changes the terms of at least one of the consumer?s debts."
Just remember --- IF THEY WANT AN UPFRONT FEE, THEN IT'S A SCAM.

Received call today. Did not answer. No message was left. What's the point of being on the so-called "Do Not Call" list if these pests can still call?

This is a SCAM to get your credit card number.  Don't give any information to these scumbags.

Called ID showed "986-000-9362 Name Unavailable.  Recorded msg wanting to lower my credit card interest rate and to speak to a "live" operator push 9. I did.  He asked me if I "was responding to their offer on my MC or Visa today" to which I replied that I wanted them to stop calling me immediately and since I do not carry a balance on my credit card, I did not need his lowered interest rate but before I could get everything said, he hung up.  Definitely smells a scam rat! (I figured as long as I ignored the calls and didn't answer, they would keep it up; now I will see if the calls stop.)

Caller ID showed 986-000-9362.  Automated message said that there is not an issue with your credit card, but that you have an offer which is about to expire which could lower the interest rate on outstanding balances to as little as 6.99%.  There was a prompt to press the 9 key to connect to a live representative.  I did so.  The individual who answered asked if I had called about their offer.  I responded by asking them for identifying information and they abruptly hung up.  This smells like some sort of scam.

My wife got a call from 986-000-9362 to lower our interest rate.  My wife asked her questions regarding what credit card she was referring to and told her she wasn't going to give her our financial information.  The women then said "do you know what I'm thinking right now, you're a bi***" and hung up.

several calls from unk then another with this number.  The other calls were sprint text but garbled messages something about someone having surgery. This one said nothing with the number

Had the call late night, missed it so i returned it but it has a busy signal to it. So i called the following morning and still its busy...hmmmmm

Got a call from this number asking if I wanted to lower my credit card interest.   They did not say the credit card name.   Said to push 9 to speak to someone to lower my credit rate, had to do it now or i couldn't accept the offer at another time.   I did not push 9.

Got a call from this number asking if I wanted to lower my credit card interest.  Said to push 9 to speak to a live operator.  I did push 9 so that I could tell them to stop calling.  She asked if I owed #3000 or more on my credit card.  When I said "no", she immediately hung up!

Received a recorded cold call from this number, offering to lower my interest rates on my (unnamed) credit card.

Called today when I called back it was disconnected.
