I got a ton of text messages from "FRM:WindowsLive" yesterday morning and this morning.  I finally traced it to my old/obsolete hotmail account that I haven't used for some time but somewhere in there I had email-to-cellphone notification enabled.  It didn't do that (send messages) for a year+ after I switched phones but it mysteriously (for some unknown reason) started sending messages again yesterday.  I went into hotmail, found the setting and turned off this email-cell notification.

I got a message on my cell phone  from this number. I'd like to know where this number is located.

my wife is getting this text from this number All I need to know is if she is going to a dating site thats all before I start knocking heads!!!!!

rcvd text closing my account a Jefferson Financial due to unusal activity.  I do not have an account there.  Said call 1 845-943-5627 for info.

So it started out 1010100001 then 1010100002 then 1010100003 then 1010100004 then 1010100005...well; this last one, I asked, "So you're just a spammer?" He's like, "Yes, I'm satan, the spammer :)". So I guess Imma stop replying :]

the text from these numbers did someone using the phone have to go to a dating site first to get these text messages. My girl freind is getting them and I was wondering if I am being fooled!!!

FYI, the profit AT&T makes from one 10 cent text message is equivalent to charging you over $10,000 per megabyte of data sent, it's a fracton of the data sent during a 10 second phone call. Recieving spam via text is a great money maker for the provider if you don't have an unlimited plan.

The spam I have been getting is a little strange... The last one I received looked just like this...

Ugh so annoying.

I am a current at&t cellular customer.  I just got off the phone with a rep because I have started getting these text messages too.  She advised me that it was because of an opt-in subscription on my phone.  If you send a text message to a number to register for something, or vote for a contestant on American Idol, your number can fall victem to this.  Call your subscriber and have them remove the option from your phone.  I just had mine done, so hopefully they will stop!

These messages come at all hours of the day and night. I have Nextel and they charge .25 for everyone Im not sure if they know but its fustrating. Every message is something about looking good or look me up,cutie please Im a married person ,WTF!!!!!!

Can you identify the number that is shown on the caller Id by the name or IP

it all started Friday night and this weekend I received a total of 20 text messages from this number with consecutive last digits up to 12. The websites listed directed me to the same place - some stupid crush calculator dating site. I get charged for these texts- are these people going to reimburse me? and what about the Do Not Call registry. Doesn't it apply to text messaging, too? Anybody know how to make it stop?

I got 6 text messages from them, 5 of them last night.  They were all some random screenname or something saying hey.  I went to the website in the message to try to clear things up, and I'm pretty sure it counted my hit to make someone money and then redirected me to one of those crush calculators.

My wife received a text from this number. Is this a spam server? Not sure what the message was? Is this a dating service? Sure can be unsettling?

They are messages sent from someone using Microsoft Outlook. Its an email converted to text.

This is a special gateway number generated by the AT&T MEdia email-to-SMS gateway. When email is addressed to NUMBER@CingularME.com or MEdia_ID@CingularME.com or NUMBER@txt.att.net, the incoming gateway forwards to that NUMBER (or the NUMBER for that MEdia_ID) as SMS message(s), and that special gateway number is used to track the email address of the sender. Reply to the sender is easy, because the phone will automatically reply to that special gateway number, which will cause the outgoing AT&T gateway to forward to the email address of the original sender. This is thus the preferred method of AT&T email-to-SMS messaging.

Register at http://mymessages.wireless.att.com and http://cingularme.com/ to block this.  Although I was still unable to block the cingularme.com address.  Call AT&T and complain.

Very wierd message from this number and numbers just like this but end in a different number.

Don't know if it'll help but i'm an at&t customer (in case y'all are at&t customers too, a part of me thinks that this may be an inside job in order for "customers" to pay more than their regular monthly bill).  It'll be comforting to know that it's more than just at&t customers because I don't like paying for a service to a company that should be trusted not to engage in such practices.  Obviously this is not targeted at one individual.  I've been getting constant spam, yesterday I got 5 text messages from 101000007, 1 from 101000006 and 1 from 101000005 (that's 7 on a Sunday). 2 days ago I got one from 101000004.  3 days ago I got one from 101000003.  So far today I've got 1 from 101000008.  I already pay for a limited number of texts per month and at this rate I'm paying for spam.  If I had the option to turn off text messages and not receive any at all I would have already.  It's one thing to get spam in your e-mail, it's far worse when you're making people pay for it.  I hope that whoever is behind this gets fined a huge sum of money and also receive serious jail time (whether it's an inside job or not, it's still stealing).
