The same phone number just sent me a text wanting to know what my bottom price was for a Harley I am selling on craigslist.

REceived an call from this number today and they did not leave a message.  After researching the number I found out that 140 is an invalid area code.  I read some of the earlier comments about the caller claiming to be from BB&T (a financial institution).  I have banked with them for years and have family employed as regional managers.  This bank does not make sales calls.  You will only be notified about late payment, account fraud, or other problems with your account.  This is a scam so DO NOT give out your personal imformation to these people.  My question is, what do we do, as consumers, to stop these calls?

I have an idea that it wasn't BB&T but someone claiming to be BB&T.  I have banked with this company all of my life and have never known them to call for anything.  Fortunately, I have never had a oayment past due, etc so therefore I would not have received a call as this institution does not promote sales calls.

Strange call from 140-330-1201.  There is no public U.S. area code 140.  Very odd.

i just got a call from this number it looked strange so i picked it up just to see what happens after saying hello like 5 times it just hung up

this number has been calling my parents a total of 15 times from last wednesday until today - monday. we called BB&T bank, which we have an account and we were told they were not calling us and to ignore the calls. It is very annoying and we attempted to block this Number today...

it is a real bank. they usually call if u r late on a payment.

Its very annoying to get several calls (3-5) a day from this number.  I dont think a reputable bank would use such a number. I answered one time and they wanted too much personal information. I truly beleive this is a scam!

Got a call from this number several times today.  Automated message said it was from BB&T Iwhere I do have an account) wanting me to validate my account my keying in the last 4 digits of my social security number.  That isn't going to happen.  BB&T is a reputable bank and would not use a weird number like this if it was actually them calling customers.  I am going to call  BB&T during business hours tomorrow to see exactly what is going on.

Got my first call from this number today. No response when I answered. What is the scam? Anyone have an idea as to why this number is calling?

Received a call twice today once at 4:23pm and again at 8:21 pm. The second time it left a message saying their from BB&T which is a bank institute which also gives out loans like for cars and so forth. Why did they use that number? Feels kinda shady when they do that. Usually when they call me they use their business number and I answer. Won't answer this one never know who's imitating them. Any way just wanted to let you guys know its BB&T 140-300-1201.

This number comes up on my phone as 1-403-001-201. So odd. And really annoying.

We get several calls daily from this number, I have never answered it.  Very annoying, but they never leave a message.  Obviously it is some sort of scam.

I got two call as well. It left a voice message saying "Press * " and that was it. Weird.

What the heck is this number. Its not even a valid area code. They have called twice today. You can't even call the number back. Anyone else seen this one?
