Same story: phone rings, the number above appears on the handset (though 1471 doesn't record it), I pick up, there's a delay of several seconds and an automated female voice says "Goodbye".  

Based on what the poster above says, it sounds as though it's a scam: I guess they have some sort of gizmo that dials a whole load of numbers at once to save time, and connects the caller to whichever one picks up first, terminating the rest after a short delay.  (I think they call it a "power dialer" or something.)

...So if you get a call from this number and the caller says they're going to help you, don't listen to them!

this number rings me bout 4 times a day

I answered a call from this number today and the fella who spoke told me there was something wrong with my computer and he would" talk me thru" how to put it right? He said he was from Windows or something, told him my son was a computer engineer and that he would sort it, he hung up??

I received a call from the same number... never picked it up because it looked strange. wonder who it was?

Just received this call (9:35 AM). Answered with "hello", there was no response. After 5 seconds, a digital female voice stated "Goodbye".

call from this number middle of the night. Did not recognize so chose not to answer
