Yes - I just received a phone call on my work number and my cell phone from a Nicole Davis at 855-339-2898 stating that they will be coming to my place of employment and/or home and that I should be available and ready that they are going to serve me documents.  I also received another call from 888-979-5863 stating the same thing.  I will be contacting the FTC tomorrow.  These people need to be stopped.  I am NOT going to return there calls.

Debt Collector
I got a call today, where they said that I had a lawsuit pending and if I wanted to settle out of court, I needed to pay $3000.  The company name they provided was a previous company I had obtain a loan with in the past, and I had paid them off, so I knew I didn't owe them any money. They asked me to confirm my information for verification, but like I told them "I don't disclose any information to any company, unless I contact the company" and they said that's fine, let me confirm, and they said your Social is, your bank account is, your address is, basically they had everything even my Drivers License! I've made reports with all local authorities, I've closed all accounts, I've signed up with Identity Theft protection, as well as other things to protect myself, my family and my identity!  So people PLEASE BE CAREFUL, they are scamming people!

Getting frequent harassing calls all day to home / cell / and they even called harassing my mother. They threaten to come to my house, if I am not there they will come to my work. She states her name is Chelsea Wilson same as above and does not state name of business that they are calling from, or collecting for.  Claims she is trying to serve me with court papers for debt. She calls from 716-402-1123, and says I need to call : 855-339-2898 to settle my debt.  I have no debt. This is obviously a scam. But it's getting out of control.

I got the same call to my cell first, I did not answer, then to my work number.  An Amber James leaves this number and a case number saying they have exhausted all efforts to find me and to call this number w/the case number.  But, last week thursday they left the same threatening message that they were coming to my home or place of employment in 24 hours regarding a legal matter being filed against me in my county.  But they can not tell me the date of court or who the collector is or the amount of the debt.  It's a shame b/c people who are working and trying to make a living to make up for legitimate debts are being tricked and scared and these types of collectors are making it hard on honest folks who may want to pay any debts they owe..  It does need to STOP!!!

I had that just happen to me an hour ago, and they threatened to come to my job, and really tried to intimidate me, the whole time refusing to tell me who they were, and what they were calling about. And constantly asking for my social security number. Will definitely report to the FTC. They claimed to be from a company called IAA, but would never tell me why they were calling, but, constant about trying to get information from me!!!! Pissed, to say the least. The number8553392898

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
