I got a call this morning from SKARMAN , telling me to go to my computer so they could help me fix the problems that I was having with windows . I am not having any problems so I hung up on him !

I got a call today from some guy (he had what I would guess was an Indian accent) claiming he was calling from the Microsoft technical department. He told me that I had a very serious virus on my computer. So I asked him how he knew that it was my computer that had the virus. He said he had some number that was on my computer to identify it, so I asked him for the number, and he gave me a a number, so then I asked him where I would find this number on my computer, then he told me to turn in my computer, so I asked him again where do I find this number, then he yelled at me "GO TURN ON YOUR COMPUTER" so I hung up on him. Then, he called me back! So I answered and he told me I was wasting his time and to hang up. I then told him that he called me and he was wasting my time. Then he called me "bloody stupid". I told him that I didn't understand what he was saying, so then he called me "bloody stupid" a few more times. I did finally hang up on him when he couldn't come up with any other names to call me. I would of talked to him a little longer to waist more of his time if he could think of something else to say.

same story , female voice ,said she was from Microsoft , asked if I had windows ,when I said you should know you are calling me ,then she hung up .the registration on my phone did say microsoft

Got a call from them today.  I answered.  Woman started talking, I answered in my native language (not English) and she kept insisting that my computer has a virus.  I strung her along for a couple minutes by responding in another language, but she kept persisting.  She kept telling me that my computer has a problem, then said I have a computer virus.  She sounded like she was Jamaican, but could have been from South Africa.

I am so sick and tired of these calls.  If only people would stop listening to them and not follow their instructions, they would probably give up and we could have peace again.  Love computer technology, but these telemarketing calls have got to stop!  Wish I could just disconnect my phone, but I need it for faxes and business purposes.  (I am on the do not call list, which certainly hasn't stopped a lot of these scams.)

You need to format the computer ASAP. ERASE the hard drive. Microsoft isn't calling anyone about computer problems. This is a scam giving them access to your computer - allowing them to put a software on your computer to spy. They will get any personal info you type on that machine and steal you identity and your money

Called about my computer very bad english.  They call again I have a whistle with their name on it.  It's a scam.

199-910-0100-This number has called several times this week, with a delay on the line then hang up. Today an Indian speaking said he was calling from Microsoft and I had some issues with my computer. I told them I didn't own a computer and he hung up!!! i recieved alot of calls in this nature last year too but stopped until now.

Woman with Indian accent babbled something about my operating system sending out critical error messages.
The connection was also bad and kept cutting in and out. Attempts to get clarification as to who she was calling on behalf, her name or location, and what error messages she's talking about were ignored as she continued to repeat the same inane babble. Hung up on her.

They can use any name or number with the right (wrong) software. They do that so no one knows who they are.

Same person called me today and they never say anything when you say hello so I decided to pretend i was a IT person and when I was done talking, I heard a laugh so I said I heard you laugh Mother F**ker and hung up, then he called back again and said your the mother f**ker and said he was now from the police station, and he was going to run my name, and I said sure you are, whats your badge number and name, which he didn't give me and tried staling and then starting fooling around some more.
I Guess some people don't have anything better to do.

Got 2 calls from this number!!  Don't answer calls I don't recognize.  Don't appreciate this at all!!

I followed their instructions. Rushed to my bedroom. Turned on my computer. Gave them my IP address. Next thing I knew, my bottom was sore and my underpants smelled of curry. I am thinking something very, very bad has happened.

Cal everyday, today I answered and told them to stop calling and that I know they are scammers he asked me who told me?????? I hung up he called back and swore at me.
One hour later they called again WTF????? I answered and told them to stop calling again and that I know who they are

How this person gets the info.

I just received a call from this number and disagreed that I was having computer problems. He argued with me and I hung up. The man called me back and called me "Mrs. Effing A-hole." I called the  number back and can't make a connection. Idiot couldn't even speak good English let alone swear well. What an idiot.

Same here it was a woman with a foreign accent saying she was from the maintenance dept of microsoft windows and it was vital info about my PC and laptop.  Told her called ended right there and she was getting nothing from me and I hung up on her

Caller claimed to have received reports that there are problems with my computer.  Definitely a scam/fraud.  Broken English.  He has called a few times.  He hung up when confronted.

They called me.  My wife answered and told them that she would get me, her husband, who is a computer expert with the RCMP.  That didn't make him hang up.  I strung him along for a bit, got his name and phone number (which was totally different from what was on the phone display  (321) 710-8142).  His name was Alex Smith.  LOL  He sounded Indian to me.  He's from the tech department of Windows Service Center in Florida.

He wanted me to click on the Windows flag on my keyboard and the letter 'r', which I did.  That brought up the 'RUN' dialog box.  He wanted me to type in 'eventvwr', which I did not, of course.  That's when I hung up.

Got a call from an Indian man claiming that he is from Microsoft .... He think I am stupid ? Scam!

Got a call from this number at 4:21 PM 4/17/14.  I didn't answer as there was no name associated with the number.

This scam has been around for years. I get several each week. The spoofed phone number changes but the Pakistani or Indian caller with poor reading skills and a bad phone connection remains the same. If you are naive enough to let them into your computer, they will extort money to "fix" it or steal your identity. If that is the case, you may need professional help to clean out your computer. Microsoft (the real one) has a webpage on the subject and advises you to just hang up when they call. They also urge you to change your computer password immediately, download a cleanup program from THEIR WEBSITE ONLY , and offer help to take down botnets. Problem with my computer?  No, the problem is with your computer -  send me $10,000 US and I will fix it for you, Mr. 199-910-0100 from some country where English is not the mother tongue!

I just received a call from 199-910-0100, They said they where from the Cyber crime unit of the police department...I hung up on them....they called right back and asked why I hung up.... I said "because I think its a scam" they said "really" I said "if you want me to believe you,  then give me a number where I could call you back" all she said was "really you want to call us" I said yes and waited a few seconds and hung up.... they haven't called back.....clearly a scam with a different tactic.... trying to exploit fears from the Heart bleed bug-virus
