Guys, this is not "Google".  It's a company that does some sort of SEO or pay-per-click or whatever.  Calling Google to complain about them is about is useful as throwing rocks at the ocean because you got bit by a fish once.

These guys are class A scumbags however -- two times now I've gotten them on the phone and they only want to hear two things: you are the owner, you have a valid credit card.  They will not identify themselves, they are under orders to not say who they really are (and each time, I started off trying to be reasonable and acting curious, but no go, they pretend to not hear you).

If you have VOIP phone: MOST providers enable you to block numbers, either through a user interface you can access and use, or via customer service.  Just add them to your list of blocked callers, but do file a complaint on them at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints

Receive calls from the 201 area code all the time at work (Edina Realty in Baxter MN) and there is never anyone on the line.

I just received a call from that number stating they are calling from Google and that our listing was about to expire. Push 1 if you are the owner.  Well in what company does the owner normally answer the phone?  I hung up.

Always calls the office phone, I pick up the receiver and the call ends within 3 seconds without anyone on the other end. Don't bother answering.

Getting numerous automated calls from this number about my Google business listing being deleted. I finally pressed '1' to get a person. A guy answered, asked who I was, I asked who he was, he sighed and hung up. Have reported the number 201-283-9034 to www.donotcall.gov.

Just as everyone has stated, micced a call from 201-283-9034. blocked my caller ID and phoned him back. Message said # was disconnected. 4/26/13

This is now being used by Google to try to get you to buy into their Iphone advertising. More like trying to scam people since there is no way to verify how many hits an ad gets through their app, unless it is them reporting. They are using multiple phone numbers I have listed below. I have reported them all to the DO NOT CALL, but it appears Google thinks they are beyond going by the rules/laws mandated to others. I even called their main office to complain and they do not have a maned Customer Service, it is all automation with them.

guy was rude asked for owner so i asked what it was in reference to and he said in reference to me speaking with nick so he refused to give info so he got a dial tone & the phone slammed in his ear!!!!!!!!!!

I have received several calls from this number.  They don't leave a message.  I wish there was a way to track these people and have them stop making these calls!

Do not know who is calling from this number & agree with Julio above; although not huge in that dept. I bet I could chock the S.O.B. if ever met.!  Called three times today on office line, no message left the first two times (1:07 p.m. & 4:29 p.m.), picked up the phone on the third call at 6:33 p.m. without saying anything with a silence then a hangup.  Caller ID shows as V1216294900018 as the first call with the second & third as V12613080000018; what in hell is this?  Keep log of these calls (date, time & any info you may be able to gather) they will be tracked down eventually with any info one could furnish to the number called, date & time.  Sure would appreciate knowing who this is.

Insists he is collecting for the police, can-tell me who just for the police of nj.  Told him no pledges over phone, and I only give to my local police.  I said send a blank info card so I know who you are - he said ok, but I need an amount to put in the box.  I need more info.  I said I had to go, I said no pledge at this time.  How do we know which is real and which isn't.
