I got the same call with "Testing, 1,2,3". Got a new call this morning, same man's voice talking about his new company. Tell's you to press "2" and leave your name and phone number.
Did some checking on my own. Phone number is unlisted but is coming from a mobile phone. The mobile company is Arch Wireless Holdings, Inc. Called DC for phone number; there are three numbers and addresses for this company:
(202) 526-3391 - 4300 Harewood, Washington, D.C. 20017
(202) 842-1095 - 1275 K St., Washington, D.C. 20005
(202) 338-3745 - 2730 Wisconsin, Washington, D.C. 2005
I called these numbers, only problem is that when each picked up I got a high pitch sound like a fax machine answering.
This sound like it could be a very nasty scam and you should not leave any message.
I hope this information helps so that you can contact someone in your area to see what is going on. I contacted a Times reporter, but haven't heard back from him yet. I am going to forward this new information to him today.
This is a very creeepy situation.

some man leaves a message at least once a month on my machine. All he says is testing 1-2-3. I've tried calling the number again this morning, but there's a message that the number is no longer in service.
Who the f--k is this guy ?

received a call from this number at ~7:15pm Sunday, Sept 9th. Since I didn't recognize the number and know no one in Washington DC (this came up on caller id), I decided to let the machine pick up. They hung up before the machine came on.......

Just a quick update on this. I have not received a single phone call since I did the # trick on Sept. 29th. I had been getting a minimun of three per day for weeks in a row.

Well, getting closer to finding out who this person is. Got it narrowed down to a cell phone serviced by Arch Wireless Holdings company. So that much is correct. It is a number where the service is set up so they can call you, but you definitely cannot call them back.
(202) 214-7895 is a cell phone based in Washington Zone 1, DC
The registered service provider is Arch Wireless Holdings**.
Detailed listing information is not available.

Got a Call from them 10/4/07 7:30 pm, Showed "District of Columbia" ID
I picked up and a male voice started
"This is a message for Entrepreneurs ...". I hung up immediately and filed a report at the "Do not Call Registry" https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
And I will do it again every time they call. If the FCC gets enough complaints they might trace this down.

Update: I did a trace on the phone number using Intelius.com. Apparently this phone number is also not researchable either. There is definitely something going on. People just do not get calls from phones which are not in service.
The Reverse Phone Lookup Report you requested was not available. Your order was canceled and you have not been charged for this report. Please visit My Reports page on Intelius to view your reports. Please do NOT reply to this e-mail.

Phone call from 202-214-7895 is a call which hijacks your phone line and doesn't allow for disconnect just because you hang up. This is a scam to possible use residential lines for purposes of conducting illegal business or other type of transactions i.e. illegal phone calls to international areas.
The phone is traceable to Arch Wireless through Fone Finder, but when you click on the hyperlink, it takes you to USA Mobility. Best report this individual to both the FCC, the CIA and the FBI. Perhaps even the U.S. District Attorney's Office.
Good morning: The phone number 202-214-7895 is not in service. Furthermore, USA Mobility is not a telemarketing company, so please be assured that the phone call you received did not originate with USA Mobility.
Thank you for contacting USA Mobility, your one source for wireless.

Mystery solved. Began receiving the same calls, male voice saying the same thing. Did some research. Have an uncle involved very politically in DC, where this number is located. The next one I received, I picked up. It was a recorded telemarketing message. I hit the pound key to make a long beep. Said in a stern voice, "This call is being traced and reported. Do not call this number again!" We'll see if that works. A marketer may have to log a certain number of calls or something. Don't know. But that's what it is. No creepy phone taps or anything. Mystery solved. Dude messed with the wrong chick! LOL!

I just got this call (11:35am Sat 29th Sept 2007), I didn't answer. They also called me last night (4:35pm Fri, 28th Sept 2007). When I got my new cell phone in November 2005 I began reciving calls right away for a dude named "Wailyn". Everybody called me, form his morgage company to his sister! T-Mobile claims they hold their numbers for 3 months so anybody who calls these people will understand that they're now out of service. Well when I talked to his sister she claims she talked to him a few weeks ago on this very number. I let her know "Wailyn" was late on his morgage, car payments and that there are many, many sales opportunities in his area. Apparently Wailyn was in the habit of filling out forms for sales opportunities and probably alot of those web offers we all see pop up. The problem is that Wailyn doesn't live her anymore and I have to deal with his past transgressions. Isn't there something we can do about this? I remember in the 80s we used to be able to block numbers on our telephone line. How come we can't do that anymore? Wailyn, keep filling out those forms and stop paying your bills, I'm sure I'll hear about that real soon.

I just received a call and I did click 2 and left a message stating that I am on the no-call listing and I am going to report their number they called from to the no call list authorities...what else can we do...it is so annoying it sounds like a multi level marketing spiel...but this is so unprofessional and an invasion of my prIvacy...
We are on the national do not call list...please suggest what else we can do to protect our privacy..
