I just got the same phishing call on my answer machine, too.  He is also a John something from the IRS, but he sounds too Indian to be a John something.  S***, even scamming is outsourced, too.  Come on, dude.  Next time, get an American voice, please.

Ive been called twice by these A**holes this week...I feel terrible for older people who might actually believe these guys. If you're not savvy or if English is your second language, you could be duped by these guys. I've reported them to TIGTA.gov and everyone else should do the same and get these guys shut down.

I reported it to the county sheriff (because the scammer said that the "local county authorities" were going to contact me) as well as the county prosecutor's office.  I was told by both offices to tell the local police, who took the information but said unless I had lost money or sensitive information, there wasn't much they could do.  I informed all three offices of the scam so that they would be aware.

I checked out the phone number as well and it appeared to be an attorney's office.  So I googled-mapped the address and it is an apartment complex.  The suite that the" attorney" allegedly uses is vacant and for sale.

I just received a call from a "John Wilson" claiming to be from the IRS. Had me scared shitless saying I was going to be arrested and etc from tax fraud and saying that they had audited me from 2002-2008, I wasn't even old enough to have a job then, he tried to get me to send money through a greendot moneypak, then I knew it was a scam, people beware of this a***ole.

This number has called me 4 times today. 3 times I told them not to call back. I knew it was a scam since I don't owe the IRS anything and the IRS wouldn't have someone call me who couldn't speak English

I got the same call from these idiots this morning. I just hung up on them. I'm on disability and in a wheelchair . My income is not taxable. They are such pathetic scammers!

the idiot  has me frightened because the phone number really is an attorney's office - but not frightened enough to call him back of course and certainly not to give him any money!  I'm pretty savvy and aware of scams, but the fact that it truly is an attorney's office has me wondering if it's legit.

Thank you - I don't owe taxes, I got a refund, but he said "tax fraud" - that phone number is really an attorney's office, Gutjahr & Montagut - that phone number (202)223-0880 tracked to a Carlos Caceres at that attorney's address - but he said his name was Ross Graver.  It's got me half scared to death!

just got the same call, same person.  When I googled the phone # (202)223-0880 it's an attorney's office, Gutjahr & Montagut in Washington, DC.  If they really are attorneys, is this call legit?  When I called the # back, they answered "Internal Revenue Service."  However, when I called it back after hours, a voicemail simply said "no-one is available to take your call, please leave a message at the tone" which makes me highly doubt they really are attorneys.

I just got the same call. Same conversation. I am going to send out a public service announcement to the media, and report it to our local DA.

Got call from these scammers.  Robotic voice said "IRS" and provided first name "John" and garbled last name.  Looking for my husband, who has Asian surname.  Knowing that this is a scam, I decided to "play with them a little".  He asked for a "contactable number" for my husband and I said no.  He told me that they were the IRS. I told him that the IRS doesn't call people but rather uses the US mail.  He said that a certified letter was sent.  I said that was not true and that they were scammers and probably not even in the US, and he said to wait and I would get a call in 15 minutes from my "local county authorities" and I said "Really?  Which county? Which county do I live in?"  He said that I was uncooperative and I asked to speak to his supervisor.  He said that he was the supervisor!!!!!  I laughed at him and told him that I was reporting this to the IRS.  He told me to have a nice day and hung up.  Here I am, waiting in my house, for the "local county authorities" to contact me.  This whole thing would be silly almost laughable  if not for the fact that some people do not realize that it is a scam and become frightened, and even send money or give out sensitive information to these loser criminals.

mr ross at garbled legal department . the irs is going to file suit on you , please provide your attorneys name. told him as i had not received any notice of intent to file from irs that he was a lier and not to call this number again.

So I just got a call from "Ross Graver" from the legal department at the IRS..
They are going to file a claim with the state county court about a tax fraud with my name and social security#.
Seriously, do these people really think we are this stupid.
