They told me that they were calling for American Homeless Veterans from Chicago. But this is a Washington DC exchange. I requested to be taken off their call list.

they never leave a message and I am never home when they call, can't call the number back.  Very annoying.

YOU CALL BACK AND NUMBER IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE

We have recently been receiving calls from this number, and when we pick up, the caller says nothing than hangs up. When we call back, we get a recording that says,"The number you have reached is not in service".

They didn't leave a message so I have no idea who they are.

I have gotten calls from this number but have never answered them or not home when they've called. have never left a message on machine. caller ID says Dist. Of Columbia. i am glad this web site exsist  so that phone numbers from these scum bag scammers can be checked. next time I'm going to call them every name in the book but a human being....

They (or their automated dialer probably) hung up on our answering machine.

Even if they said they were from Homeless Vets like they have told others posting here, I have no reason to believe them without researching the organization and contacting them myself. A sad sign of the times.

Recently we've been getting hit with a big influx of calls from out of state or toll free numbers claiming to be anything from political calls, surveys, humanitarian stuff, etc. I'm wondering if these are just scammers using the loopholes in the DNC list rules.  At any rate we wish they would stop, we aren't going to believe any of them.

I said hello twice, no response.

Called at 10:30 a.m.   caller ID Distric of Columbus....no one spoke....

Got a call, answered, no one on the other line.

We get one call a day from this number. No one is there when I answer the phone. When I call back, the recording:"The number you have reached is not in service. This is a recording." -Crystal Lake, IL

I receive up to half a dozen calls from this number per day!

The people of the United States of America pay taxes for retarded things like bridges to nowhere. Instead why don't they just give the money to these people. I live in Missouri. I don't have the time and patience for things. I have to work for my money!

This number has been caling me at random times for the past few weeks - today it woke me up - reporting it to do not call registery now

What can be done about these calls?

I have been getting calls fr this number for about 2 wks.  Today I tried to call it back.  However, when I called the number it isn't even an active number.

A series of messages of the last 3 days.  No message just a hang up.  I called my cable company - we have digital phone.  I am filing a harassment complaint with the local sheriff.

Called twice, from the district of columbia.  Nobody says nothing.

These people have been supporting VET`s for years better to send to an organization that is proven not one that calls on the phone

Got the same call.. I could hardly understand the woman.  I hope they call back again when i'm home.. Gonna have some fun with them.

ok I did answer the phone.  The guy went on that they are a company who raise funds for disabled vets.  When I went on to tell him I did not give personal info over the phone he got hostile and said "what you don't have even ten dollars to give to our red,white & blue campaign.  He was also pushing for our home address.  I just hung up.  Then I tried to call back and it would go through

Get Google Voice and route your calls thru it, and send these callers to Voice "H***".

Just got a call from this number, answered, and got someone who sounded like they said "Don't Hang Up!" and then the connection was lost (assuming they hung up)

202-292-1187 calls me several times a day and night.  ID says Dist of Colombia.  It is very, very disturbing and I get no response when I answer.  I don't know what type of scam it is but I do not make donation pledges of any kind over the phone.  Really have no idea who this is or why calling me.
