I was surprised when this company called me. I have been applying online for a while. The process seemed weird, but it worked.

I was surprised when this company called claiming to be a back ground check. They asked too many questions about me having an interest in continuing my educational studies. I was waiting for a sales pitch of some sort so I am skeptical as this was like on other background check that I have ever responded to.
em 2011-06-06 20:41:27 Unknown
They called and didn't leave a message (Jan5). I called them back, and I think it's legit. They were doing a background check for a company I applied to a job with. I checked out their website and everything before calling... seems real. I answered 5 mins of questions about my availability for work, and they said that the hiring company would be in touch. They didn't ask shady questions about my SS# or bank info. Who knows.
Claudia 2011-06-06 20:41:27 Unknown
Why would a company doing background checks on you, call you? For little money they can get all they need and more from one of many legit search agencies. If they are ligit, why don't we know the name of their company.
Why doesn't the reverse phone search bring you to a legit company name.
It doesn't make sense. Use your head folks. These people are NOT "legit"
Becareful! It could be one of those "work from home and make $5000. a day"
schemes. Watch for Google Money Tree. I just reported them to the FTC.

Stop calling me.
Nick 2011-06-06 20:41:27 Unknown
This is some kind of SCAM. They called me about a "manager" position that I applied for and then offered the training I needed to get a manager job.
Sherrilou 2011-06-06 20:41:27 Unknown
This is a legitimate call. I applied online for a job, and know which company/job this call was calling about. They merely verified what I had on my application and did not ask any questions other than to verify, and told me I am advanced to the next level, and the employer will be my next contact. I track my job applications, and can tell you without doubt that this is legit.

i received a call from this number tuesday morning at about 10:45a.m. saying they just wanted to verify my app for a job in my area. i do know wwhat job i app for in my area so i don,t think they are a sham. i,ll update if the company calls me. the guy did say i was what the company was looking for in a candidate. so we,ll see.

This is a legitimate company. I called them back and talked to a guy who led me through a verification process (phone number address etc...) They did not ask for any crazy stuff like credit card number, account numbers or personal ID stuff.
They didn’t tell me where the job was located, but said it was in my area. The guy told me after I finished the verification that I would soon receive a phone call for an interview. It took the company almost a week to get back to me. Sounds good to me…

I received a call from 202-403-0825 also. Kept me on hold for 10 min. Previously received a call from 2 college recruiters. Just before that I applied at a job headhunter web site stating that they would rather hire people seeking higher education. Their application form asked for my cell phone carrier. 202-403-0825 is out of service on Feb.17 2009. DOUBLE CHECK ALL YOUR BILLS for the next year or so. I will no longer fill out applications asking to further my education or for my phone carrier.

I got a call he said he was a screening company for a job I applied for. He wanted to ask me questions, but I could not talk at the moment. He told me to call the number on my caller ID and call back when I can talk. I did and only get a busy signal. So not sure how to contat them, it was for a really good job.

I received a call from this number and was told that I was being considered for a job. The individual then verified the information from my resume and stated that I would not be considered for this position unless I spoke to Troy 1-321-249-1490 about education connection. Spoke to Troy and he then forwarded me to Judy at another department. She then wanted to forward me to a GI Bill specialist. GOT PISSED OFF AND HUNG UP.
My information was spammed from using career builder. What a crock.

It's a scam. I took the call, waited about 30 seconds for an automated msg to tell to wait. Finally someone picked up. They told me it was in response to an application/resume I sent for such and such position. Ok. Of course the first question asked (after getting all information in my resume) was "are you interested in continuing your eduction?" me: "no" guy:"ok, well have a nice day". It's the Sky-agency or Voice Applied Customer Service.

Yeah this same number called me on Friday January 9th @ 9:10AM...I answered but no one said anything. When I called back it was a recording about an application that I put online. I did fill out an application online but not where they were. This definitely may be some type of scam so people beware and look out
toy92 2009-01-10 18:44:19 Unknown
Same number also looking for a job no message left definitely a scam. Watch out there flooding the internet.
ViVi 2009-01-09 17:52:18 Unknown
# Called, left no message. After reading the other details I called back to see whats up, being as I've been applying online for jobs/resume and it was an employment verification process, where they ask you a few questions (all of which could be found on your resume) and then after you complete it, they forward you on to the next stage of the application process, which would be contact from the employer themselves.

Good Doctor 2009-01-08 02:13:34 Unknown
Received a missed call from this number.
May be a result of an online application I "almost" finished. I stopped mid-stream because it smelled of a scam--no actual company was listed just some vague stuff about administrative help and health care industry.
"202" is a Washington D.C. area code.
Buyers beware!
Laurie 2009-01-07 17:58:10 Unknown
Got a call from this number as well.. no message either. 12/7/09 9:10 AM
vj 2009-01-06 17:55:27 Unknown
said it was from an online employment application. I was left on hold for 5 minutes and then it hung up. No return call. Suspicious.
Beayre 2009-01-05 20:57:54 Unknown
I just got a call from this number at 9:12 AM. This is kinda weird that no one answers the morning call from these people; did anyone actually answer the first time around? Anyhow, same story, didn't leave a message. I noticed the area code was from Washington DC, so I assumed it was the Fed unemployment agency, since I just applied earlier this week. However, calling about a job I applied for online sounds about right, cause I've been applying also. I think I'll just wait for my unemployment check... :D
